To avoid injury, do your cardio first to get your muscles warm and heartrate up.
Angrysandwich: If you're lifting to failure, the numbers on the bar are irrelevant unless you're in a competition. The training effect is the same.

Beginnining your workout with 30 minutes of cardio is the most effective way to raise your heartrate for weight loss. If you prefer just bulking up, try cardio one day, arm weights the next, legs the third, and then rest the fourth. Continue this routine, adding minor weightlifting work after cardio and increasing the reps of weights each week.

Any serious bodybuilder will tell you that you hit the weights first! Don't believe me? Fine. Try an hour of cardio and then lift. Then try the opposite. As you will find out, you can do the cardio either way, you won't be lifting the same amount after an hour of cardio, though. Case closed.

I usually do about 5-10 mins of cardio first to get warmed up, then my weight routine followed by more cardio. I personally find if I can't always finish the weight routine if I do the cardio first.
