I'm in the 6th grade and my reading teacher gives me homework every day and that homework is to read. After we read we have to get the reading log signed by a parent to show that we realy did read. On Saturday I read but I forgot to get the reading log signed so when I got to school I realized it wasn't signed and so I signed it in my mom's handwriting, so I committed forgery. Personaly i think you can tell that I was the one who signed it and if the teacher can tell that it was me then she is going to give me detention and 20 hours of community service for it! What should I do?!

I would confess to your teacher as it is much better to be honest than it is to be caught in a lie. You have to STOP signing your parent's name to things as this is illegal and "forgery".
Should you ever forget to get your parent's signature, then just go in without the signature and tell the teacher. You will find that you won't be carrying such a heavy load on your shoulders when you do something wrong.
I would also suggest you tell your parents too! It is much better for you if it comes from you rather than the teacher.
Honesty is the best policy!

I would first tell your mom - or whoever WOULD have signed it - and also tell them that you plan to do the responsible thing & tell your teacher. Be sure to tell your teacher when no one is around. She can't give you any leniency in front of anyone else.
It is stepping up, doing the right thing, and being honest that counts. Be willing to accept the consequences, and you just may find mercy for being a person of integrity.

Show your mom and let her sign it the right way, end of prob. My kids did this all the time. I thought the whole read every night and sign thing was bogus...but you have to do it.

take it easy, you actually did the reading honestly but forgot to get it signed. first tell this to your mom. and in case teacher come to know tell her the truth too.....
