Ok, I am not religious in anyway at all, but a religious group in my area are causing me a lot of hassle saying i support what the lord doesnt or some crap like that.
BEsically because i support gay rights, civil partnerships, equal rights for all and i dont take my children to church, i am a bad person.
I have taken my children out of their RE lessons in school because i dont want them thinking religion is the way to go and i want them to make their own decisions. They know to respect others no matter what their beliefs and all, they have even taken abuse from this group and not retaliated because they dont want to hurt their feelings.
How can i get them to stop? I have called the police on several occasions but they always go when i do and the police cant catch them. I have a camera in my front garden so i have them on tape throwing stuff at my door and breaking windows and everything.
And im the bad one?

My wife is sick of it, she is currently pregnant with our third child and they constantly yell at her when she leaves for work saying "kill the anti" "no more non believers"
why do most religious people find it hard to keep their views to themseleves?
(no disrespect to religiou people on here, i know there is good out there )

The only reason i have taken my children out of their RE lessons is because they didnt like it and i dont want them being unhappy, that and i dont want them thinking they have to know everything about all religions, they learn what they want to learn about it, no one can force them

I am in the UK, and i have only had the CCTv up for about a week and the police told me to leave it up for about a month so they can get as much evidence as possible.

You are definately not a bad person you are just sticking up for what you beleive in withour pushing it on others.... UNLIKE THEM! They could learn from you.
Go to the police with the video evidence... they have NO right to do this to you. Its your right to have opinions - its not their right to push theirs on you!!!!!

I am sorry to hear that you are being harassed in this way. I am a christian myself and I am very aware that some christian groups can be rather extreme about how they get their message accross. From my point of view you are most definitely NOT a bad person. There is nothing wrong with supporting equal rights for everyone and, some of my christian friends are gay but that makes no difference to their relationship with god! The bible says we are all sinners, so they are no different to me. Anyway sorry don't mean to start preaching. I think it's a shame you have taken your children out of re at school. how can they make a decision for themselves if hey do not know both sides of the argument. If they are armed with all the info as they grow up they can make an informed decision about weather they believe or not. As for how do you stop them harassing you I would suggest try being nice and polite to them and maybe they will back off, kind of reverse phychology. Otherwise I don't really know sorry. I hope that as I am a christian you aren't offended in any way.

No your not bad you believe in what you want to believe in I'm with you i don't believe in things like that when my sons were at school they were doing RE and were going on a school trip to a Hindu church i refused to let them go because they are English the Hindu's would not let there kids go into a christian church so i thought it was fare but i got a stink for it but who cares my boys have black friends and gay friends and i think there great but at the end of the day your the parents you bring them up the way you want to and stuff everyone else as for the abuse you get i cant help you there sorry but tell them your set the devils on to them and tell them there go to hell.so sorry your going though this wish i could help more but keep everything on tape for evidence and good luck .

Your story is indeed a horrible one and I am sorry that you have to go threw this just because of your beliefs and convictions. No one should have to put up with that kind of harassment especially from hypocrites such as the "religious" folks that you are dealing with.
I don't know how to get them to stop other than the ways you are already pursuing. I would, if it were my situation, do a smudging on my home and yard and perhaps do a protection spell on my family, home and vehicles ... but that is because I am practice witchcraft however, I would not suggest it for everyone.
You are NOT a "bad" person unless you label yourself one. Your motives for your actions do not appear to truly infringe on anyone else other than your own family which is the way I believe we all should live our lives.

Not a reflection on the author of this thread, but on the post above that said a person who supports gay rights is honourable:
If some people supports Gay rights, and some Gay people dispute the bible's view of homosexuality, then does that mean that repressing right's to religious freedom is good?
Seem's somewhat paradoxical to me...correct me if I'm completely not seeing the facts here...

Report them to thier church elders or pastor, or even further up thier chain.Take out an abatement order or contact a solicitor/attourney ,put a cross in the front garden,that`ll confuse them.
They clearly arn`t very christian in thier actions as thier bible teaches compasion,understanding and love,all properties they lack.I don`t know where you live but in the UK this sort of thing just `t wouldn`t be tolorated .The police would be on thier backs very quickly.you have a right to believe what you think,say and do unless it would cause racial or religeous tention.I hope you can resolve the situation but it sounds as thought they just wont listen,in that case move them closer to thier god

I believe in God but don't go to church etc.... I wouldn't take my children out of RE lessons as they will make their choices regardless but you have the right to believe in what you want to believe in and I don't see why these people are doing this as it is forcing you to try and believe and no-one can do that. You have to get in contact with police and explain the problem in detail and maybe they can monitor it and keep your cctv up. Maybe someone else will no who to contact to help. But these people have no right to judge you or torment you!

1.You are real human because you are serving to others.
2. Those who are against of you are really fanatic .
3.Religious does not mean that freedom of others cripled .
4.Go on your way , hidden power will be with you and your family.
5.Religious means a way to live the life peacefully and not disturb other's peace. You are getting your peace by helping others so there is no need to be religious like your neighbours.

That's terrible that they need a scapegoat to put thier problems on, and have poor leadership taking advantage of thier insecurities. When they are showing up in your front yard, launching personal attacks, trying to attack you physically wherever you are, and damaging your property, that is not freedom of expression, it's assault and vandalism. Keep taping them, and turn a copy of each tape in to the police. Also consider seeking a restraining order.

your not a bad person in fact you sound like a very descent person to me. you do right by giving your son the freedom to make choices him self. this shows you what kind of people some religions have. theses are nasty spiteful people who have no religion interest but to make peoples life's miserable. go to your council with the tape and complain hard try the police again say its ruining your life and you feel your life and sons life is at risk with these people. send copy's of the tape to mags or papers and stick it on line make a noise about it. then you'll be heard.

do you live in a bible belt town like i do ? i can relate i am evil not only because i'm a yankee but i also don't go to church i am constantly being hounded about why and do i know the damage i am doing to my kids for not forcing them to go to church , i let these stuffy folks know exactly what i think you don't need church to be a good person you don't need church to teach good morals ,manners,community spirit,or how to teach your children right from wrong i tell them if i ever want to teach my kids to be hypocrites i'll be the first one at church that usually shuts them up pretty quick if you have them on tape it seems to me you could easily press charges i would how christian is it to throw bricks at others hypocrisy at it's finest
