if so why are their so many religons? if religous figures appeared a lot back in the day. why dont they appear now?

No. Gods don't exist. That's just superstition.

There are so many religions because there are no gods to straighten people out about which is right.

There are fewer religious figures today because an old myth is more believable than a recent one. You can actually check facts relating to a recent myth.

one persons life span is very small compared to thousands of years.when we think of the past we tend to treat everything beyond a certain time as "ancient".

but it's not the case that all religious leaders appeared almost at the same time..this is 2007 AD.that means jesus existed 2007 years ago.well Lord Buddha existed 2550 years ago...there's a 543 year old gap...so u can't really say that religious figures appeared "a lot" back those days..

oh and there are so many religions because people don't believe in the same things.to be a christian,u MUST believe in God.but we Buddhists don't believe in God.we believe that people themselves are responsible for their own actions.and a definite "no no" in Buddhism would be blind faith that's not supported by evidence.independence,curiosity and an analytical mind are very strongly advocated in Buddhism.

God has put his knowledge in all human beings.

Every human, irrespective of his faith and belief, feels himself guilty!! whenever a wrong deed is committed. WHY?

This is the only reason that since the creation of human (Adam & Eve), he/ she have knowledge of God, Good, Bad, Evil etc.

Human knowledge is limited to his senses and observations therefore he/she demands somthing to be seen, felt or realized in any approachable form...therefore the premitive races adopted worshipping of Idols.

Concept of God is not invented by human...it is engraned in his nature.

Humen cannot see the God due to human limitations hence God chooses someone amongs them and give his message in the form of revealations - the chosen way of life, through his messengers.

Messages of God are found in the shape of Bible, Torah but these Books are long lost and Original scripotures are not available in the world. However these scriptures were re-written through human memories but the accuracy is doubtfull.

God sent his final message ( Al-Quran ) through prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and declared this as a Final Message for humanity till the Judgement Day!

Since the Final Message has reached to mankind in original and un-altered form therefore no further prophet is required nor shall anyone come to guide!

Your problem is that your knowledge (including your modern science) is unable to reach the real God therefore you deny HIS existance.

Think about the Creation & Creator!

I think God exists, the reason for there being many religions is because there are many different people and cultures. Just because there are a variety of religions does not mean that they are untrue. I think I have said this before on yahoo answers, "God is a piece of cake and religion is the way we eat it (or try to understand god). Who cares if you eat it from the side, front or back, underneath, etc. as long as it gets eaten."

Religious figures don't appear now because they're myths... myths created and designed to control people into a particular way of thinking, if not to guide people in an age where the majority of the population was illiterate and uneducated.

personally i dont believe in any god or religion.
as we know religions have very ancient beliefs, and in many respects very naive. they have moved on very little in the centuries. people at those times were very ignorant and guillable. i dont believe that anything happend more then than now, is only that people actually believed in someone's story (e.g.the bible big story book), or tricks, not everyone was uneducated and easily impressed, and those with better minds could in many way control the weak. i am surprised of how many people still believes in these stories now a days.

Religion is man by his own efforts attempting to attain the approval of God. It emphasizes man and his abilities, much like Satan did.

Real faith is------accepting what God has done on your behalf and realizing that you are undeserving. Grace means undeserved favor. What could you offer God in exchange for His blessing and how would it benefit God?

religion define God, but God doesnt come under religion. People created religion to keep them seperated from others. But God never created religion.

The only true God who created heavens and earth is "YAHWEH" who never belong to any religion. Christianity is not religion. all that ends with "ism" can be religion like Hinduism, buddism. etc.,
