i reakon only about 5 pence i would say i buy big kilo bags for 3 pounds and working out from that it's probably only about 1.5 pence per potato

At the restaurant I used to buy 90 count potatoes (big ones) and I figured the cost to be about 20 cents. But that wasn't retail, just wholesale.

not sure how much they are per potato, but I know where I live (Atlanta, GA) you can get a 3 lb. bag of russets for $3.99 on sale at Kroger.
