Ok, im no expert but.....

My soul is in my body, my body lives on Earth during my mortal days then when it dies my soul will rise up to Heaven (presumming I have been sin free enough for God's taste).

As I child we were taught that in Heaven you can do what you like to make you happy and experience eternal bliss

erm...hello? I have lived in my body all my days, so everything I enjoy requires my body....isn't that the whole point of me having it? If I could be happy as just a soul wouldn't God just have put me here as a spirit?

I cannot read without my eyes, I cannot talk without my mouth, I cannot listen without my ears. What am I supposed to do in Heaven that will give me eternal happiness?

fl2 - according to your comment, I have lived the same life as you. I am kind to people to be kind not so I can be rewarded with Heaven, which is sort of self-centred

We will have a resurrected body like the one Jesus has.
Jesus told His disciples, "handle me, touch me. See a spirit don't have flesh and bone as you see me have". He was able to appear and disappear at will. It is hard to imagine how many different things we will be able to enjoy in heaven with a perfect body.

But then it is also hard to imagine how vast and enormous our universe is. I just read that the hubble telescope can see 800 billion suns in one galaxy, and there are over 100 billion galaxies in our own known universe. Our brains are just too limited to imagine how great God really is.

Talk about not thinking outside the box. Even if we didn't have bodies (the Bible clearly states that we will be given new bodies to enjoy in heaven however), I'm sure we wouldn't be floating around as blind, deaf, mute spirits. Nice try though...

Please pick up a Bible and read it with an open mind, your soul is at stake here!

If I'm wrong, I simply lived a good, honest life and loved my family and fellow human beings. Something that I very much enjoy by the way. If your wrong, you're in real trouble pal...

let me share to you the experience of a person who has died and returned "I Hovered around the ceiling staring at my body below and I felt an incredible sense of relief, I felt relief at being freed from the heavy, burdensome, mass and weight of that body. I felt a sense of having been release from prison. I am not my body. I am me, A body was something I had once worn, like a shirt or a jacket. It is gone and I am free. There is no sorrow, remorse, or even the slightest concern for anyone or anything, There was no thought of needing to eat, to finish unfinished business, or of anger or pain, it was completely natural and comfortable not to breathe and despite having no eyes, I could see everything distinctly, colors and all in 360 degrees, I could hear and listen without my ears, even hearing what others are thinking. I could feel, move around, think, remember, reason, and feel, and do everything, and anything without my physical body to limit and hide what can I do and capable of." this means , you first have to get rid of your physical body to know what you are supposed to do in heaven.

This is only what I think. Of course your spirit looks like your body like what you see in movies. Maybe the same thing. You can talk, walk, listen, smell, feel, see, etc. And studying in a Catholic school, we were taught that saints in heaven were to pray in behalf of the saints militant (the people still alive here in earth like you and me). and the fun of going to heaven is that you get to be with God and you won't have to suffer the heat of hell and get your soul burned.

Heaven is different for different people. To some people it is a place of perfect happiness and all wants satisfied with out money. To true Christian heaven is with GOD besides you.Infact the your heaven is an imaginary place where whatever you want.No unhappiness. It may be different for diufferent people.Heaven and life after death are consoling thoughts.

Well lets think about the alternative. If you don't measure up, you'll be thrown out into eternal darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. If they can provide teeth in Hell, they must provide sufficient in Heaven for you to enjoy it.

In your dreams; you can see without eyes, move without limbs, hear without ears and even fly without wings.

It is also possible (in a Dream) to create new environments, situations and people.

Question: Can you hear your own inner voice when you think or read something? YES/NO...
