Yes, I feel that the ancient Egyptian gods are real---just as I feel that the gods of many cultures are real.Just because I don't worship them doesn't mean that they don't exist.
I don't see any deity as a symbol for something else. I feel that deities are individual beings just like my ancestors were separate beings. My g-grandmother and my aunt aren't facets of one ancestor. They may share the same physical bloodline and/or spiritual bloodline, but they aren't the same being.
Since "Pagan" is such a wide umbrella term, there will be many different answers to the question.

Personally, I am a Hard Polytheist. I believe that the Gods are real, and that they are separate entities. I do honor some of the Egyptian Gods, but the Pantheon I worship is Greek, and my patron gods are Greek. Some Pagans believe that the gods are all aspects of their unconscious. I think, ultimately, the results of your magick or worship will be the same whether the gods are real or not -- it all works. For me, however, the Gods are most definately real.

As a Pagan I believe that The Source/Creator is Everything that Is. She is Mother and Father. Some people find it easier to see The Source as a mirror ball - like the ones hanging in dance halls. It has many different facets but it is still just the one ball. Some Pagans look to different faces of the God/dess for different reasons. We all find the face of God that speaks to us. I see The source as my nurturing Mother and my protecting Father. Just like Christians, if you ask ten Pagans to tell you about their Deities you will get twenty different answers!

On the concept of ‘real’:
The Christian theology of a 'real' God (that can be proven by history and science) is - I can quite safely say - a very unique Christian construction unto itself.
All religions believe God/ Goddess/ the gods are real.
Men and Women are 'half-spirit' - and 'half flesh'. And we are real as heck! God is Spirit.
The visual aspect:
Pagans/ Hindus/ Buddhists etc do not seek a physical (or god forbid, a Hollywood-styled) manifestation of God! Idols are visual/ meditation/ inspirational aids.
The famous Ancient Egyptian gods:
If the Christian Trinity is perplexing to 'pin down', the Egyptian gods were equally multifaceted. All at once, they are gods, lesser gods of a supreme god (Osiris, for example), and anthropomorphic manifestations of nature (Sebak the crocodile god, for example).
Surprisingly - upon close inspection - ancient Egyptian religion was strongly monotheistic (depending on the dynastic period). The solar Amen-Ra was only one of the many names of the One, chief God of gods.
Ancient Egyptian funerary art:
It was more than just about beauty and piety. The art was there for a purpose too - a magical aid for the deceased.
I would love to tell you about the similarities - and differences - between Ancient Egyptian religion and Christianity, but that is, deservedly, a topic in itself.

I believe that all the Gods and Goddesses are real and I would never deny Their existence because to the believer they are real. Personally, I feel that all the Gods and Goddesses (including the God of Abraham) are but a facet of the gem that is the true Divine, just as we ourselves are a part of the Divine and therefore Divine ourselves.
People ask for help from one God or Goddess because they are trying to access an aspect of the Divine to help them.
Bright Blessings )O(

I view all the Gods, and Goddesses Pagan or otherwise, as different faces or personalities of what is ultimately one "God". The different personalities become "real" for the reason that enough people invest thier energy in them to give them a life of thier own. I believe that "God" is too big and vast for us to relate to in it's ultimate reality, and we all, regardless of what religion we are, break it down to personalities in order to allow us to relate to it in our human terms.

I once again can only answer for myself. The Gods are real. As real as you and me, even if you do not believe in them.
They are not symbols, they are not Archetypes, they are beings real beings to be honored and worshiped.

I believe they're real, but as I don't follow them, I've never interacted with them, and so have no direct experience.
