I am a Christian and during the time that I have been Christian I have found that people dislike us for a number of reasons, but the main reasons are…
A: John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” This verse causes so much controversy between believers and non-believers. Why? Mainly because non-believers or followers of other religions do not believe or accept that Jesus is the only way and they get angry with us for one of three reasons:
1. They are of a different faith and they believe that their religion is the correct path to God.
2. They are lukewarm and because they do not want to decide on one religion for fear of being incorrect they accept the philosophy that all paths lead to God and they dislike any religion that does not promote that idea. Essentially, they hate all forms of organized religion.
3. They are atheist or agnostic. Atheists believe that there is no God…and agnostics say, “Well, I know there is something…I just don’t know what it is.”
Basically, we are hated because we believe that Jesus is the only way anyone can ever get to God, which puts all of these groups at a disadvantage if they do not believe in Him.
B: Another reason is our belief in the Great Commission or Evangelism. Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Christians honor the last request of Jesus and evangelize. Often non-believers refer to this as, “Pushing religion on others.” They do not like it because they are confronted with a possible reality that they do not want to accept; one way to God, one shot. This is mostly why so many people have become disillusioned with Christians, claiming that we are ‘high and mighty’ or ‘self-righteous’ because we believe that we are saved without a shadow of a doubt and that if they do not repent of their sins and follow Jesus they are not. Most of the time a nonbeliever will say, “So what you’ve never done something you regret? You’ve never sinned?” They get exasperated and angry and that is where their association of a high and mighty Christian comes from. What they do not realize, and what most people do not tell them is that we are not high and mighty…we mess up, we sin…A LOT…the difference between us and them is that because we have accepted Jesus’ free gift of salvation when God looks at us he doesn’t see our sin, only the blood of his son which covers our sin and makes us spotless in his eyes. Until one accepts Jesus they are completely exposed to God and there is nothing to cover their sin if they do not repent.
C. Lastly, people hate Christians because in order to follow Christ they have to make huge life changes and most times people are not ready or willing to change. Sin is an addiction and people don’t want to quit. If they do not acknowledge what Jesus did…if they deny his existence, then they do not have to face their sin or even recognize it. Jesus exposes the sins of the non-believer. The problem with that is that everyone is going to be confronted with sin eventually…denying Christ will only save people during their life time, but when you meet with God I wouldn’t want to be standing there without Jesus’ blood to cover my sins. Non-believers need to ask themselves the following questions…
Do you consider yourself a good person? You do! Have you ever lied, even once? Have you ever stolen? The amount is irrelevant. Have you ever committed adultery? No! Jesus said anyone who looks upon another to lust after them has already committed adultery in their heart (Matthew 5:28). Have you ever murdered someone? No! Well do you hate anyone? Jesus said anyone who hates another is a murderer and no murderer will enter the kingdom of heaven (1 John 3:15). So by this time you’ve more than likely admitted that you’re a lying, thief, an adulterer at heart, and a murderer. I am guilty of all of those things as well. Now if God judges you based on that ALONE would you go to heaven or hell? This is where the news gets good or bad…you’re in court because of the crimes you’ve committed…the judge tells you that your fine is $7 million dollars and there is no way you can ever pay it…you’re about to despair when a man walks in and says he will pay your fine in full, if you’ll repent of your misdeeds and follow him. The man’s name is Jesus…now, do you accept him or reject him? The choice is simple, be in prison and die, or inherit ever lasting life through Christ.

There really isn't much hatred towards Christians here. One thing that I've seen over and over again is Christians (some, not all) interpreting any and all criticism of their religion as hatred. I think some of them have read that verse a few too many times. :-)
Paul wrote so much about how Christians will be persecuted for their beliefs that it's very easy and natural for Christians to read persecution and hatred into other people's actions and words. Look at the first few answers if you doubt it. And it didn't take you long to get there yourself in that single paragraph.
That's your interpretation, not our reality. We'll get along much better if you listen to what we're really saying.

Things are really magnified here in a way that they aren't in the real world. People say and do things here that most of them wouldn't in the real world. I don't hate Christians, I hate intolerant and closed minded people of all spiritual walks, and I respect people of all spiritual walks who respect others, and understand that there might be another way to look at things. There is no need for anyone to put any body down for thier spiritual path. But there are all kinds here, and unfortunately, some people here don't play nice, and people are going to react to that. I am Pagan, and have nothing against Christianity as a religion, nor am I inclined to draw sweeping generalizations or condemn an entire group over the actions of a few mean people. If someone is acting in a mean spirited way, I am going to react to that, but as far as their religion is concerned, whatever it is, if they are acting that way, I am going to think that they must not be applying it very well, or not getting the right things out of it. That is about them, not thier religion. If I just disagree with you, it doesn't mean that I hate you, it means I disagree with you, and just don't see it the same way as you do. That isn't persecution.

Your question is why many are frustrated at christians.
I am sure you are a wonderful person like 99% of christians.
It's just I find you leaping into debates on subjects such as history will little to know real knowledge or understanding of objective history.
The Bible is not the only book ever written. It may be an excellent reference for faith, but certainly a poor reference for historical debate. Likewise, christian history books about christians being persecuted because they believed in Jesus are unfortunately just plain wrong!
Let me prove it for you with one simple example:
The Roman law of capital punishment for being Christian was instituted after christians supporting Paul set fire to Rome around 64 CE killing around 250,000 men, women and children. I guess that single act was enough for the Romans to consider christians as too dangerous a fanatical sect at the time.
Now, just to prove that Romans clearly understood the difference between christianity- the religion created by Paul of Tarsus and Gnosticism/Nazarene- the religion created by Jesus himself and the true message of the apostles, by around 150 CE Valentinus, a leading gnostic/nazarene teacher had established the leading spiritual school in Rome, with thousands of students from across the Empire, including the Emperors and their family.
Valentinus taught about Jesus and the true message of his salvation versus the evil twisted religion created by Paul of Tarsus (St. Paul). So here you have a man regarded as one of the great ancient spiritual teachers speaking about Jesus to the Emperor while at the same time to be Christian was a capital crime!
Please don't fall for the standard trick of many by simply dismissing these historic facts out of hand, because they don't match what christian history texts have told you.
Try reading the Supreme Bible of God, see
http://one-faith-of-god.org/final_testament/bible_of_god.htm
It might help fill in the blanks in your education and knowledge of history.
All the very best!

Because of Christians' shoddy behavior here.
It's utterly dishonest of you to pretend otherwise - you come here telling an obvious lie and expect to get respect?
If you really didn't want to be hated, you'd be more honest than this. Obviously being hated makes you feel good. Shouldn't you be concerned about that? It's not a very mentally healthy situation.

they are actually not Jews because of fact Jew's do not have confidence the messiah has come yet. they don't have confidence Jesus so believing in Jesus and asserting your Jewish for sure contradicts one yet another.... that's unhappy that there are those Evangelist Christians that decision themselves "Jews". supply up this custom now, your disgracing the two Judaism and Christianity.

Its mostly pagans and wiccans who percieve some kind of persecution and like to think theyre being victimised. These people think that ALL christians are bible thumping biggots. A lot are like that (mostly in america) but most are ok. When will people stop arguing and accept the fact that all religions/races are inferior to Jack Bauer

Jesus said "count it for joy when you are persecuted for my name's sake for they hated me first".
In my flesh I want to retaliate, but then in my spirit I want to pray for these lost souls. Forgive them God, for they know not what they do.
