How's that for refusing to think for oneself?...it supports all my suspicions that some believers are too lazy and apathetic to even think for themselves.

Well I do know someone who used to say this regulary. I think though this person was trying to create an ellusion, that they had belief that God might guide them to the possible outcome while all the time their own behaviour would not exactly endear God to them. So thus testing the love of God and the ability to have everything be alright in the end no matter how you behave along the way. Not entirely sure this is how it is meant to work.!!
As to being a cop out.....probably is but often said with the belief that life is not in our control. Why do we believe that, or at least some do, because it is easier perhaps>

It all depends on the individual who is providing the answers and the question itself. Some questions I must say do invite the response " Don't know, it's for God to decide." I, for one, would be the first to admit that I don't have all the answers to the questions asked. I will try to think through each question and if I can find an answer that fits the question, then I would reply, otherwise I would give it a miss and let someone else who knows better have a go at it.

That is because they are Spiritually Ignorant of Gods Word. EVERY answer they need is IN the Scriptures. Sad to say though that some could read it in front of them and they still would not be able to see it. Now that is called Spiritual Blindness and Hardness of the Heart. I have seen many many answers to Spiritual Questions in here and all I see for the responses are Copy and Paste items. They have eyes and do not see, and ears and do not hear. If the Blind lead the Blind do they BOTH not fall into a ditch?

I think that to some extent it is a co-pout to answer real questions that way. Now if it is a question that there is no way for us to know the answer like. If Adam and Eve are in Heaven, Yeah I think G~d knows that answer. But for the most part there is a biblical basis for a lot of things and with a little research you should be able to find the answer to your question or help someone else find the answer to their question. :)

god,i have found through experience is certainly a cop out for Christians to use.I'm sorry to say it but these people are incapable of their own logical thought.it doesn't matter what you ask them they reply in a very illogical way,oh,god knows the answer.why are they not honest with themselves and simply say,im sorry i don't know.their is no god.if their was,he would kick their butts for bringing him down.

Typical creationist answer. If any fine detail is needed it can all be explained away as being "God's doing". Ask them why we find dinosaur fossils and why there's no mention of them in the bible.

Do you hear atheist say - I don't know, for Dawkins to decide? Hell no.

If only they believed in a god, that punished ignorance and greed and rewarded empathy and reason.

it seems to me like an admission of "I don't know everything and I'm not gonna pretend like I do". I much prefer that to people acting like they know everything and always having to give an answer to show off their awesome wisdom.
