Hi. I have a problem, see. I'm around 5'6 and 160, I don't look obese or anything, but I've gained some weight since around this time, last year. I have a friend out of state that I'm going to meet at the beginning of June and I don't want her to think "Oh my god, she got fat!" But more along the lines of 'she looks nice', so I'm here to ask you today, is there anyone that can give me a diet or exercise plan so I can lose about 15lbs, maybe flatten my tummy some? =[ Maybe something that will get me decent results by June and isn't EXTREMELY hard to stick with?
Thank you. =]

I lost alot of weight several yrs ago(about 60 lbs) How I did it was to change my eating style. Not a diet. I ate a small portions of meat(deck of card size any kind just not fried or breaded) lots of salads& veggies(no butter). I used everything at least light or no fat & was very skimpy. I did eat more chicken breast than beef & pork. Baked alot.
As for a work out I walked about an hour a day. Sometimes if I had the time 2 times a day. I started out just walking, spent the first 20 minutes warming up to a faster walk & maintained the pace till about the last 10 minutes when I wound down. I had several routes mapped out to avoid routine After I got used to the walking and was doing well with speed & all I drove it in the car. I was walking about 3 1/2 miles in 50 minutes or so. It feels good once you get used to it. It is also a cardio workout .
So just a healthy well balanced diet with small portions & fat free as much as possible & burning calories. After the weight came off I felt the need to tone up so I bought one of those at home weight machines & developed a workout that I did every other day & on the off days I walked.
Good Luck!!!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

Eat 6 small but balanced meals per day. Your carbs should be high in fiber, your proteins should be lean, and your fats should be sparing but high in the omega 3 & 6 fatty acids. Avoid greasy foods, alcohol, and candy.

Lift weights or perform power yoga. These are resistance exercises which will increase your lean mass and burn extra calories 24 hours per day. Also, some cardio helps.

Use a measuring tape instead of a scale to measure your progress because the measuring tape is more accurate.

Here is a sample meal plan, a healthy foods list, and a sample workout.

I have simply cut out most of the bad stuff, wine, beer, crisps and chocolate - not totally, I still have a few treats. I also switched to brown rice and bread. I have put on my trainers and gone walking, and go to the gym once a week. I havent really lost much weight, but I have dropped a jean size, and feel much better. Its much easier if you can get someone to go to the gym with, I was lucky enough to find three or four friends and there is always someone who wants to go. Sticking with it is hard - finding the time and motivation can be difficult, but worth it. Once you get into the habit its easier, and seeing results is such a bonus.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.
