I believe that you have got a new passport without ECNR (Emigration Clearance Not required) stamp.

As per the new passport regulation all are automatically entitled for the ECNR status.

As far as i am aware if you are a undergraduate then you required to do ECNR. you can go to the Regional Passport office alongwith your certificate of SSC or if you are a graduate then this certificate and you have to fill up the misc. service form and submit in the morning and by evening PP office will give you the required documents.

ECNR is not required for certain category of people and this list is annexed with for for acquiring passport.Mainly ECNR is not required for person having Bachelor or Master Degree,person beyond the age of 60 years.Please check.

Ordinary applicant get ECR. Spl. get ECNR. If your eduction is 10+ or you are income tax payee, you can get ECNR. If you have ECR and going for job, supsension is necessary. Meet Babu Ji at POE.
