I cannot trace my father who lives in France now.

Being half French, you should have a livret de famille which tells that your Dad is French. Just go with that to your French Embassy and get a French passport. Go to the French department and not the Visa department. Bonne chance

You should contact the French embassy wherever you are. There may be an age limit as to when you can claim French nationality, so do it as soon as possible. It would be helpful if you have your birth certificate and any other documents.

Your father can petition you as a French citizen but you must locate him first. Search for him in his birthplace, workplace and places where he resided.
