Yes, any name not foreign to Christian sensibility is allowed.
In Baptism, the Lord's name sanctifies the Christian, and the Christian receives his name in the Church.
This can be (but does not have to be) the name of a saint, that is, of a disciple who has lived a life of exemplary fidelity to the Lord.
Parents, sponsors, and the pastor are to take care that a name foreign to Christian sensibility is not given. (In other words, they won't allow a name like Lucifer).
With love in Christ.

you may give the baby the name of your choice aslong as the name doesn't pertain to something ungodly or unchristian, such as the many names of the devil(lucifer,satan,beezlebub.....) at the childs confirmation he will be advised to take on the name of a saint(not as his first name).the siant he chooses should be one that he feels will draw him closer to christ,by the example and imitation of that saints life. iam not familiar with the names of the roma catholic church but the priest that will baptize your child will take you through all the stages and will inform you if something is not acceptable. god bless and congratulations on having your son,may god bless you both.

The Trinitarian variety is a Catholic baptism into the physique of Christ. Any separated team who baptizes this way is following the Catholic custom. they are in a less than excellent way an element of the Church. The imperfection in spite of the fact it particularly is that we are no longer in communion with the separated communities who stick to extra or much less of our custom. So, in case you're no longer Catholic, you nevertheless would possibly no longer get carry of the Eucharist, yet you could attend Mass and be blest by making use of the priest.

Neither my first or middle name is a Bible (saint) name (they are however fairly common American names). My Baptismal name (Joseph) is both a Bible (saint) name and my Grandfather's (mhrip). Though I never use my baptismal name nor is it in any way a legal name or on my birth certificate.
