new laws introduced in the uk in late 2006 early 2007 mean that a written caution will stay on an individuals police record for 100 years. in other words-life.........a contravention of the road traffic regulations is not a criminal offence (except in the case of drink/dangerous driving). a written caution administered for a criminal offence will stay on the persons record.
