I ruptured a disc at L4-5 that was misdiagnosed for so long that I now have permanent nerve damage and chronic sciatica. I did have surgery but that caused scar tissue to form around the nerve root, so that contributes to my pain as well. I have tried nerve pain meds, narcotic pain meds, steroid injections, chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy etc... and nothing really helps. I have learned to just deal with the pain and have built up a high tolerance to it. I am currently 33 and I have dealt with this for the past 14 years.

My suggestion... keep walking, but do not run. Keep your exercise as low impact as possible and swim if that is at all possible. Also, do not hesitate to see your doctor if you feel that your condition is getting worse. I know most people do not like the idea of surgery, but if that bulging disc ruptures you want it fixed asap. Things have changed a lot since I had my back surgery and they can do much less invasive procedures that will allow you to recover much more quickly. When did you have diagnostic testing done last? If it's been more than a year, ask for them again just to be sure things have not changed. I know what you are going through and I wish you the best.

Ack, that sucks! I have a few minor sciatica myself and the item I've determined that works the first-class is Iyengar Yoga and endeavor. I do have it mildly ample that I can nonetheless endeavor, however the yoga has helped plenty. I do Iyengar due to the fact that it is vitally desirous about alignment and it is vitally well for accidents. I am really analytical approximately making an attempt to determine what works due to the fact that I'm a scientist. I have spotted tremendous advantage from the Yoga. The colossal change among my sciatica regardless that is that mine is as a result of a few crunching in my sacrum, no longer bulging discs. My co-employee with bulging discs and sciatica stated that yoga used to support, however now she is simply too careworn out (that's worrying the sciatica) and strapped for coins, to move anymore. She's bought a unique demands little one which takes ALL her time. I do consider that the versatility and concentration of your frame can not harm so long as you're SUPER cautious to not do whatever that hurts. All yoga isn't identical, so discover a *studio* no longer a fitness center, and make certain they're practising well alignment and confidently Iyengar.... Just sort Iyengar and your subject right into a seek engine and also you will have to discover a studio confidently. Good good fortune.

I've been battling sciatica for close to a decade, after a minor car accident, and I had tried everything the doc threw at mepills, injections, special mattresses This guide was extremely eye opening and within one week of the regimen you gave me I can barely feel any discomfort. You have no idea how much of a relief it is to be finally getting rid of a pain I've had to bear for so many years.

I highly recommend you see a chiropractor for this condition as they specialize in The spine. The only type of exercises you should do with this condition is in the water because it will put less strain on your body.

I've enclosed a link where you can find a chiropractor in your area.

I have the same thing..and the sciatica is so painful. I had epidural blocks and they work for alot of people...but didn't work for me. Short of sugury to relieve the bulging disk, maybe your Doc. can refer you to a good pain management clinc. There's lots of drug free ones out there if thats not the route you want to go.

You need a good quality back massage, lie on the floor, and get someone you trust to massage your back, get them to really massage the bits on both sides of the spine, very close to it. There are grisly bits next to the spine, massage these as they can 'pop' out, you'll feel a great relief when they pop back in!

Have you been to an osteopath? I swear by them. They massage the area first and then manipulate the spin. Ask your doctor if you're a suitable candidate.
