Is there anyone out there who can give a scriptural reason why God would provide millionaire pop stars a Grammy ( in re: " I'd like to thank God for this Grammy"), but not bother about a starving child in a famine-stricken country?
Or maybe the question is how does one justify comments like "I prayed really hard for a parking spot and the angels found one for me!" , when it seems probable the above mentioned child was praying for the ort of bread that may've kept him alive, and never got it?
...atheist's, agnostic's, and non-believer's, et. al. :I appreciate it, really I do...but the query is posed for those in this particular intra-mural league, not yours; however, laughter never hurt anyone...

Personally, I do not believe that God gives people Grammys, touchdowns or parking spaces per se.
He gives people basic intelligence and other natural gifts that are there for the development. Some people get more, some less. Some work harder and sacrifice more. The Bible says that He sends both sunshine and rain on both the righteous and the unjust. The good is called common grace.
He also allows the people of the world to suffer the consequences of living in a sinful and fallen world, some of those consequences are famine, disease, poverty, natural disasters, human wickedness. Was that His original design? No, but it is the collateral damage caused by giving man freewill.
Why doesn't He rescue the starving child, the terrorist victim, the woman dying of cancer? Sometimes He does, but more often than not He doesn't; but one day He will, finally and completely destroying all vestiges of sin, pain and suffering. I cannot in anyway claim to understand all that God does and why? He sees so much more than we do and looks into our future as if it were yesterday. It leaves me with no choice, but to trust in His sovereignty.

When people thank God for their awards, what they are really doing is thanking God for their talents, their opportunity, and just for the fact they were able to achieve a dream. I don't think it's the actual award that matters. I don't think angels find parking spaces for people unless it is a dire emergency. But I wouldn't be too critical of that sort of talk because those who say things like that usually mean well. They are trying to find God in their everyday lives and there is nothing wrong with that because God IS involved in our everyday lives.
As for the starving who suffer, sometimes the only remedy they have is to be freed from their pain by death. It is the fault of those who can help and who do not that those terrible situations happen. Some may ask "why doesn't God do something about that." but I always think God is asking, " Why don't humans do something about that." I'm just thankful that God doesn't condemn us all for allowing starvation to happen. His love and constant presence in our lives is something we should always Be grateful for. Even if we do have a long walk from our cars to where we want to go.

Jesus did caution that many would claim His name but not be His when they meet Father God. He said to who much is given much is expected. He also said people will know them by their obedience to the teaching of Jesus. I also remember that satan had angels to follow him down to earth. These do the work of satan on earth. So maybe an angel did find a parking spot but nothing says it was from heaven.

The only thing the LORD loveth more than a Best Supporting Actress Grammy is a four-touchdown night by a cocky wide receiver.

If it were god at the grammy's we wouldn't have so much junk fed to us in the media. I think they're thanking the wrong deity on that one..

Basically give God the Glory for all things. Is God responsible for that person receiving a Grammy? No but he may have led them down the right path in life...maybe put someone in their life like a teacher who made them the person they are today.
Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ
Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ
