I don't know what you would consider 'cheap' but you don't want to go too cheap on your pictures. They will be the lasting memory of your day. I am SOOO glad we decided to spend a little more on our photos. If you want to save money and get a decent package, you could try thepros.com. They are a national company, and you get an album with every package, plus you own the negatives so can make unlimited reprints on your own. They also offer DJ and video services, and have pretty good prices for the packages. We didn't use them because the photographer we wanted was booked already. We used bellapictures.com. It was a tad more expensive, but we are absolutely thrilled with our pictures.

Is there a college in your area that has photograhpy classes. If so maybe you could post an ad for one of the students that is majoring in photography to take your pictures. I bet that would be cheap. I have been to many weddings where snapshots were taken by a guest and the pictures came out great. You could go on the internet with whoever is taken pictures and look at some other photos taken at weddings to get some ideas of poses and such. Professional photographers these days use digital cameras. I stopped going to studios to have my kids pics taken a few years ago when I got my digital and I like the pictures much better. More natural not so posed and fake.

If you are going cheap, then ask a friend to take the pics.

You should interview the photographers. Talk about budget, etc. Depending on when you wedding is, you may still be able to do a bridal show to find a good photgrapher.

Good Luck.....

Do not go cheap on the photographer unless you want your photos to look cheap.
We spent the most on our pictures compared to any other one thing for our wedding.
We learned through our friends' experiences.
We are EXTREMELY happy we did!!!

I believe this is the one part of your wedding that you should not do on the cheap. The photos will be your lifetime record of your special day. Go with the very best you can afford.

I have been to some weddings where on every table there where two disposable camera's. All the guests took pictures of the whole wedding. That way you have pics of everything and everyone at your wedding. If you don't want the usual this might work for you.

As a marriage photographer permit me supply you some advice. You get what you pay for. there's a clarification why wedding ceremony photos is costly. It takes lots of journey, equipment, hours of enhancing, etc to pull off a marriage. you do no longer % somebody from craigslist that shoots with a Nikon D40x devoid of exterior flash doing all your wedding ceremony. With a marriage, there is not any do-over. you do no longer % somebody who's fumbling with settings in the process your ceremony. What in the event that they omit the kiss. do you % them combating you and telling you to do it back because of the fact their exposure replaced into too low or too severe? helpful, those issues could be fastened in photoshop, yet exp. photographers attempt to get their settings appropriate the 1st shot so we're not spending hours fixing one image. additionally, does your much less high priced photographer have back up equip? What if a battery dies? What if a lens gets dropped and smashes? What if a reminiscence card gets complete? is likewise there a team or only one photographer on your total journey? those are photos you would be finding at for a lifetime. lots of brides come to me and have redo's of their outdoor after the ceremony photos because of the fact they are too dark or too washed out from a photographer "in the relatives" or somebody from craigslist. We could make it look common, yet we prepare for days leading as much as a marriage. we ought to bypass over "commonplace photos" and the different photos the couple provides us. we ought to desire for great outdoor lights. we must be arranged for rain. (hence exterior flash for low easy circumstances. No outfitted in flash on any digicam is robust sufficient to offer you staggering photos indoors) we ought to make helpful we've the right lens(es), the right backdrops (only in case of rain) ect. this is not any shaggy dog tale. we've ONE threat to get those ought to get photos. The kiss, the boquet toss, the 2d the doors open and you start up walking down in direction of the regulate. ECT. i'm no longer attempting to tell you to bypass blow $5000 on a photographer, yet you could attempt to seek for out a professional with a minimum of 10 weddings under their belt and notice what variety of programs they are able to offer. Ask around. Many if no longer all photographers have programs that are much less costly.
