Lately I seem to be having small anxiety attacks but only at night. I sleep with the tv on so I have something to distract me from the feeling. Has anyone experienced this? I could use some support.

Yes! They are the worst ever...... I'm so sorry. I have them all day. Due to stress. I have to take medication, but notice after I started the meds I became very dependant on them. I was told that lots of deep breathing helps. Sometimes just getting up, and fully waking can make you feel better sometimes.
Try to make sure that you breath deeply a lot. Sometimes hold your breath for a few seconds, and do this over and over for a while. I know this may only help a little bit, if it helps at all, but medication is so horrible. It works well, but it's can be so damaging to your life. I take 4 different pills. It started with Just an anxiety pill. ?? Know what I mean..

Same thing more or less happened to me last October. I felt that "Doom" & nothing could make me at ease. I found that it was something that effected me a long time ago & for whatever reason it came back in my mind. I went to my GP and was perscribed Cipramil & went to have counciling. Both of these combined helped alot. What i only found out recentily was that if you drink alot of alcohol it effects you really badly. I was at a party on Saturday night and on Sunday i thought i was going to die (not with a hangover) & this continued up till yesterday!! I will not be drinking alcohol anymore.... well maybe not as much!! Go see your GP, anxiety is very treatable it might take a while but it will ease & you will learn how to get ride of that feeling of panic before it comes to a peak. I hate the feeling so much, its mentally draining. It is also so common you would'nt believe, just say it to some of your friends & you will be amazed of so many of them having experienced the same as you at some time or other. Good luck & keep possitive.

Whatever you do, dont go on medication unless its very serious.

Anxiety attacks are normal and are a result of your own perception. Is something bothering you?
Are you waiting on an important phone call for that job? Are you afraid of ghosts?

Try controlling your behaviour and identifying and stopping the cause of stress and anxiety.

If all else fails then go on to sleeping pills.

I had the same problems for a couple of years. It didn't take meds to cure me however. Is there something else that was in your life that has been calling you back or that you feel is missing? Think about it, you may find the answer to quell the attacks. Look within yourself.

I have these all the time. You may need to go on an anxiety med. I usually have to take one for a couple of weeks when I'm under a lot of stress and usually I quit them and I'm fine. Hope this helps.

Panic attacks are not dangerous to your health. They are just that - panic attack, if you mean when you get so anxious that you start breathing too fast, your heart races and your hands get sort of numb. What people are most uncomfortable with is the fear or panic attack itself. Type "panic attack" into any search engine - there is a lot of information about it that is actualy written by doctors. You will see if you need meds or not. Mine went away by themsef.

I used to get them all the time. They have subsided somewhat, but I still get them. When you get them, talk yourself through it. Tell yourself, "yes I am have this feeling, but why, I am OK, nothing is wrong, everything is OK, I can control this." I also get really bad panic attacks, to the point it feels like I am having a heart attack and going to pass out. When I feel that coming on. I tell myself its just a stupid panic attack, I'm OK, and why am I panicking, I tell myself to stop it and think about something else. One other thing to think about is... is there something in your bedroom or did something happen in your bedroom that left you feeling bad or left a bad memory?

How do you know they're anxiety attacks? Make an appointment with your doctor for a physical. You might have something physically wrong with you.

Sometimes when I'm WAY over tired I feel that way. For me, getting to sleep on time is the only thing that works....unfortunately, that doesn't always happen.
