Being an atheist, I'm not distracted by faith--nor do I fear the wrath of my imaginary friend should I take His name in vain. Besides, if there IS a God, I think He'd have plenty more to worry Himself about than whether or not John Doe in East Moscow said one "h" more than "sit." Or told Him to damn something.
So I pretty much say whatever I feel the moment justifies.

The denigration and degeneration of society here in America is at an all time high. I can still remember those days when men knew better than to use obscenities in front of a woman, those days are long gone.
Today, females are as bad as males when it comes to having a foul mouth.

One of the Ten Commandments is "Thou shalt not use the Lord's name in vain". And I'm reasonably sure there are a number of proverbs in Proverbs suggesting that abusive language is bad or foolish.
The larger question is, has the prohibition by Islam prevented abusive language by Muslims? Does that commandment stave off uses of the phrase "God damn it" by otherwise observant Christians and Jews?

If you ask me, I don't think any language is abusive. Everything has to be politically correct these days. I'm pretty sure that God isn't going to punish us for saying a word that we ourselves just made up. For instance, the "S-word" means exactly the same thing as the words poop, crap, feces, etc. So why is the s-word so bad? What makes it bad?

the true followers of god will not do that and if by mistake they do then it hurts them but today maost are only namesake followers of religions. people have changed religion to accomodate their lust and just look and the phrase here in usa " freedom of speech". people value this more than religious values. true followers of Islam, Chistianity, Hinduism etc are very less now but jackels in sheep skin are more.

If we are to go by the abusive Answers by Muslims here, I don't think you'll find much credibility to your statement, I'm sorry. Please see the Answers of Punter and his pals - Pkstn Pride, English Pride etc. here, before saying something like this.
Lakum deenukum waliya deeni [In case you don't understand classical Arabic, that means "To you be your Path; and to me, mine"]
Peace.

Bad language is not condoned in any religion. It is considered a curse on someone. That is why they are called curse words & the worst you could do besides killing someone or hitting them, was to curse them with your mouth.

blowing up buildings with airplanes is allowed, that abusive language wouldn't really be an issue. weird.
