Do all of you know that the word abortion medically can mean something different if used as a diagnosis than a procedure?

If a woman miscarriages within the first 3 mos of pregnancy it is called a spontaneous abortion. Frequently a D & C must be performed to remove products of conception.

If the fetus dies and she does not deliver it is called a missed abortion and a D & C must be done to remove the dead fetus.

Working in a hospital large enough where coders in Medical Records did all the coding and the insurance billers in Business Office were not all that familiar with terms, I found that a lot of people would jump to a conclusion when they saw the word abortion. Please if you see the word you as a diagnosis, don't pass judgement.

Abortion is the killing of a fetus from the womb It is willful abortion when the woman has a will in aborting the fetus and it is punishable in the law of man as well as in the law of God.

When a fetus is accidentally aborted from the womb,it is not called willful abortion. The woman is excuse of any punishment or penalty because it is against her will.
