Well, there are a number of things that cause sleepiness. The first thing you should look at is your diet. What kind of things do you eat? Do you eat a lot of junk food? If so, that is a major part of feeling tired all the time. Also carboydrates can slow you down after the initial rush of energy. Reading is definitely a reason for feeling tired, the eyes get tired of moving in a continuous motion and naturally want to close. Exercise is a great way to boost energy levels! Even if its taking a 15-20 minute walk every other day... and eventually 5 times a week. I hate to say it but depression is also a common reason for feeling sleepy. I think if you eat some good foods like steamed veggies, grilled chicken breast, a few starches (not too many) and get a least a little bit of exercise you would see a drastic difference in your overall wellness. Hope this helps!

You may be sleeping too much. The biggest thing is create a consistent pattern in your life (sleeping, eating, exercise, etc). Your body will conform to this schedule & you'll be able to function better.

Teenagers do need more sleep due to body changes, stress, etc. But, there are medical issues (Hypothyroidism for one) that fatigue is a symptom of. You may want to discuss this with either your parents, doctor, or school nurse if regulating your schedule doesn't help.

You may have a sugar problem. That is when your body can not handle any type of sugar products. If you think you have this problem , just test yourself by avoiding sugar or any food product that has sugar or sugar products.I have this problem. I do not remember the medical name but it is not diabetes. There is no cure other than avoiding sugar products. It is also hard to diagnose. If you need more info send an e-mail.

sleeping irregularly would mess up your circadian rhythm, the best thing to do when you can't sleep at night, drink a glass of milk. In the morning, do your activities or stuffs where there's bright light and the right temperature surround. this way help you regulate back your cycle rhythm.

Stop reading!!! Go to sleep...
on a serious note, yes a cat nap will surely help you.
there are many drugs to prevent sleep, but do consult a doctor.
though the possibilities of you having narcolepsy(excessive day time sleeping) are less.

Try exercise in the morning and wear out yourself this will put yourself more sleeping at the end of the day.

You are not getting a "recouperative" sleep.

You need a better mattress. Save for it. A good mattress lasts 20 years. Just imagine - 20 years, of GREAT SLEEP.

Go for it.
