The New Testament is a rejection of the Jewish religion. The Old Testament God was one of jealousy and wrath, a mass murderer who apparently had no compunction about killing anyone who pissed him off, and had very specific rules to follow in order to earn his "love." The New Testament God is one of unconditional love and forgiveness. He's more laid back, and his holidays are more fun, too. The NT God is less demanding.
The NT also seems to me to be a rejection of "Jewishness." In the OT you get Noah, Ezekiel, Rachel, and Jeremiah. IN the NT you get Jesus, still an oddball kind of name, but you also get: Mary and Joe. And Mary's mother, Ann. JC hangs around with Pete, Matt, Jim, and John. He's betrayed by Judas, helped by Caiaphas and Annas... you get the idea.

Christians view the Old and New as a continual "one"...the New Testament is the fulfilment and completion of the Old. The whole "problem", so to speak, is recorded in the Gospels where the Jewish leaders refused to acknowledge Jesus as the foretold Messiah.

This is the funniest question I've ever read on here.
I'm going to guess this is a rather young Christian kid who is being rebellious using the (very) little knowledge he has.
Why don't you ask why Protestants don't go and get their own damn religious ideas?
I say I think this person is a Christian because of their capitalization, and the fact that I couldn't imagine an atheist being this ignorant.
