The same thing that should happen to any other individual that did that, JAIL TIME. Pastors are not above the law, in fact it is quite the opposite, for the Bible says that God holds Pastors in the palm of His hand, always WATCHING them.

There are several things which should be considered here before and while answering this question.
I'll state right off that no one is above the law Pastors included.(Chaplains too)
First a little horror story.
My own Senior Pastor was the recipient of some similar criticism a few years back when one of our deacons was accused of molestation. (a charge of which he was eventually exonerated)
Our deacon chose to immediately resign rather than bring dishonor upon his office and criticism to his church.(this was used against him by those who spoke against him within the church by-the-way)
In our case it was a girl of twelve or thirteen who made the accusations. My Pastor took flack from one or two in the congregation when he tried to help.
The deacon's reputation was ruined locally, he lost his job which was rather lucrative. He and his wife lost their home and his wife was forced to shut down a thriving small business. Even after he was exonerated of ALL wrong-doing in order for him to find decent employment they were forced to move away from here so they could START ALL OVER AGAIN. We(the church) lost an excellent deacon, the family of the girl who accused him and the families who came against the Pastor.
What I say is not said anger the person who posted the question. Nor am I defending the Pastor. I am just trying to be a voice of reason here because of the experience I have had in my own church.
Now, we have an accusation of abuse but no statement of what the abuse was.(Some people think that raising your voice to a child constitutes abuse... others consider a simple slap on the wrist to be abuse)
We have here one persons story of what happened with nothing about whether this has been completely investigated or gone to court yet. Another thing, this person chose to name the name of the Pastor... That sounds an awful lot like an ANGRY parent or relative to me. Not that a parent doesn't have a perfect right to be angry if their child has been abused. But we know that some parents can be totally blind to their own child's faults.(Not that I'm saying that's true in this case)
It is often better to allow the Police and the Court System to work things out than to try to hash them up in a public forum.
What was it Jesus said? Let the one who has never sinned cast the first stone.
Blessings to all who come upon this thread,
Chaplain John
Yes, I expect I will get flamed for this post.

Their is a jail for children under the age of 16? A child is an adult at that age, the legal age of 18 is a gift so that the young adult can mess up and not be punished like a real adult. Grow up and stop finding fault with others, because every adult has a breaking point. Be glad the attempt to jail the so called victim failed because now they have a real second chance.

Are you the victim or just the friend? You sound emotionally envolved, but your place is not to judge a pastor unless you are the victim or witnessed with your own eyes actual events. I'm not saying things like that don't happen, but church gossip is one of the biggest destroyers of congregations. The pastor has to answer to God regardless of any earthly court ruling. For future reference, it's not a good idea to print actual names that might get charges against you, especially if he is really trying to cover up something.

If the pastor is a bishop, he will get a post at the Vatican where justice cannot go after him.
It's certainly the holy spirit at work dear.

dont want to judge (one is innocent until proven guilty) but however, if this is true well, that pastor, that deacon and that lawyer are accountable to God for lying....liars are not children of God, no liars should be working in God's ministry...

I don't know this case but my opinion is they should be charged with aiding and abetting the crime ... as I said I don't know this case but I hope you understand what I mean. If one is found guilty and the other knew then they should also be charged and trialed

Ask the Vatican. The Catholic Church is the world's leading authority on pedophilia and "protection" of perverted priests.

He should be taken to the town square and stoned to death.
Fundamentalists should be punished by fundamentalist law.
