Eggs are a brillian source of vitamin B12!! On average they have 1.0 mcg per egg - the recommended daily intake for B12 is 2mcg for adults.

In the human diet B12 is supplied primarily by animal products, since plant products usually don't contain it. One of the few exceptions would be sea vegetables such as kelp, nori and seaweed.

Deficiencies in B12 will produce symptoms such as moodiness, irritability, dizziness, depression, inability to concentrate, impaired balance, fatigue and exhaustion, headaches and migraines, head and hand sweating, chest pains and heart palpitations, nausea and vomiting, numbness and tingling sensations and prickling sensations!! Not very nice at all ............... particularly if you are unaware of the simple fact that with any of the symptoms it is highly likely that all that is wrong with you is that you have a nutritional deficiency. Deficiency symptoms, when they happen, are very real and sometimes very scary and frightening.

The egg is a highly nutritious and functional food. It contains one of the highest quality proteins you can buy. It is also low in sodium, and contains a large variety of vitamins and minerals. Egg protein has just the right mixture of essential amino acids needed by humans to build a strong body.
Next to mother's milk, it is the second most nutritious food for human consumption. Repeated studies have failed to correlate the general dietary claim that a moderate consumption (one a day) has a direct and significant positive correlation with the risk of coronary heart disease or stroke in either healthy men or women.
They should be an integral part of any anti-aging diet.
The truth is that eggs are very good for you just as long as you don't fry them. Eggs are a tremendous source of everything from protein to vitamins to healthy monounsaturated fat.
Much of the arguement that surrounds eggs is to do with their cholesterol content. However, although eggs do contain cholesterol it really isn't a sizeable amount. Obviously, if you have particularly high cholesterol you shouldn't be eating dozens of eggs each week. But five or six eggs weekly really wont have any effect at all (just as long as they've not touched the frying pan).
You should also remember that not all eggs are created equal. The quality of the eggs depends greatly on the health of the chicken responsible for it. This is why it's really worth paying those extra few pence for free range or even organic eggs.

Eating egg whites is very good for you, because they contain one of the highest BV (biological value) of protein in any food. However, although the yolk contains many B vitamins and lots of minerals, it also contains half of your daily cholestral intake, so try not to eat too much! The yolk of an egg also contains 3 times the amount of calories as the white which only contains about 20 (depending on the size).

yes..whole eggs are perfectly healthy. they are an excellent source of protein. the dietary cholesterol only plays a small part of the total cholesterol levels, genetics is the major factor there as the body produces it's own cholesterol in the liver.

if you balance the HDL-C intake with the LDL-C intake cholesterol is of not much concern. as the ratio is more important than total cholesterol values

Yes, and please eat the yolk as well. It's sad that people keep throwing away the best part of the egg thinking it is filled with cholesterol. The fact is, the yolk contains both cholesterol and lecithin- the antioxidant of cholesterol. AND- food cholesterol is not what increases our blood cholesterol.

yes and no.
yes - it has a lot of proteins
no- yolks contain a lot of cholesterol
you shouldnt consume more than 5 whole eggs a week, but egg whites - as much as you want to.
