Really I mean it is anyone else tired of all the back & forth bashing they see on Y!A?
This is the Religion & Spirituality section, both of which are about (in my opinion) finding the answers to the hard questions in life. The unsolved riddles we all face. . . what is man? What is his purpose? What is good? What is evil? What is the road to happiness? Where do we come from & more importantly WHERE ARE WE GOING as human people together in our common destiny on this small planet. Regardless of how we think this planet or man on it came to be, regardless of what path we take to find our answers can't we help each other on our journeys?
Isn't that what religion and spirituality are all about?
Before you say you agree but it is all the religious peoples fault because they don't see it that way, I am Catholic. Before you disagree & say as a Christian I should know better, if you believe in Christ you know he died for everyone & he left us ONE commandment love God & One another.

No attempting at starting any bashing. I do not see how the last statement can be seen attempting to start bashing. IF you see it that way please explain how.

To squirrell I accept that your personal spirituality is your road to answer those questions. Why can't you accept that my religion is my road and they do not have to be opposed to each other?

Foodstamp. . . is the world and regular life so devoid of drama and fighting that you need to go some place to find it. That people feel that even if they have the opportunity to create a little world (like we can in cyberspace) that it has to be created with this anamosity?

Mac attack there is a big difference between expressing your views and bashing. Express away I just ask that it be you expressing your views which is not the same as expressing antiviews.

Free, unmoderated, and anonymous forums possess the Trifecta of features for the immature, the flippant, the cynical, and the truly malevolent.
There are days that a few good questions appear. I try to answer them (if applicable) cogently and respectfully. Most of the time, the Forum is quite enervating to me and I need to go away for awhile and rejuvenate.
If you want more behaved environments, I suggest that a moderated forum for debates, using threaded electronic conversations is best found at
http://www.theologyweb.com
or
http://www.theologyonline.com/
Be warned, however, one must show up to the TWeb or TOL gunfights with a cogent and intellectual automatic weapon, not the usual knives of platitudes and polemics we find in the Y!/A R&S Forum.
Yahoo Groups has some potential as well.
Non Believers:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Non-Believers/
Believers with formal theology training:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/theologosAMR/
(full disclosure: I moderate this one)

What I understand in this Section , bashing is prohibited or not allowed but I have always been reading questions mostly from the Atheists group about their attitude in bashing Christian God, bashing Christian religion including the personality of many persons answering such questions and these questions have not only made me tired of it but anger to the very person asking the question, however, as a true Christian, I just let it pass but I could not just leave the question without answering it with of course challenge to his ability.
I do not agree to your contention that it is all the fault of religious people and I do not agree that as a Christian Catholic, you know better than we are or let us say, I am.. No I could not agree and that is beyond reasonable doubt. There are instances that maybe you know more better but there are things which are not within you. Sorry for this comment.

That was a very good question and wonderful statement. If everyone had your attitude, this would be the place to find answers. But, unfortunately not everyone comes to R&S looking for answers, but to mock and scoff. This is a great place to learn how to turn the other cheek and practice patience. Once in awhile you'll be blessed by really helping someone and then you'll know it was worth it.

The way I see it, everyone is entitled to their own religion. Isn't that one of our constitutional rights? Just because I disagree with your religion doesn't mean that I am right and you are wrong. You chose yours, and I chose mine, for whatever reasons we both had. In my mind, faith is a universal thing, we just all have faith in different things. You have faith in your God, and I have faith in Mother Nature. So, no, I don't agree with your religion, but I respect your right to have it.
And as far as I'm concerned, no one has the right to bash another's religion. Yeah, I'll stick up for mine when someone else bashes it, but I never have and never will post a stupid question like "Who hates the Christians?" because that's just stupid.

well we can have a voice on here... I like to express my views on religion and usually it's not what Christan's want to hear. But as long as I have to put up with religion on my front door, in my mailbox, in my government I will continue to voice my opinion!

It is extremely difficult for this to be a true forum for learning because so many use this simply to disrespect and insult that which they do not understand, nor wish to.
A true exchange of information and learning can not be done here.

The Catholic Chursh is a crimminal organization which protects pedophiles.
I deal with Christian lies on a daily basis. Catholic lies range from the myth that Einstein was a theist, to the claim that there is conclusive evidence for Jesus’ existence.
I'm not bashing.
