Its all as you'd expect if we evolved to fit into our environment. We developed brains so we could outwit or pr editors and prey, we harnessed fire to warm us and cook our food, water and food are what drives evolution, Not all of us sleep when the sun goes down, but sleep is a time for the brain to reboot and take in the knowledge gains through the day. Inner qualities developed for social reasons to help us survive as a race, in tribes.

Think about what man has accomplished in the last 100 years.

Now think of what can happen in the 4.57 Billion years since the Earth was formed, or the 13+ billion years since the universe was formed.

Is it so hard to believe that over that amount of time, we could evolve to what we are now? Or do you find it easier to think some being that just came from nowhere did it all in 7 days?

all very nice from a human perspective, but what about beyond that? If the earth just vanished tomorrow, all those things would disappear, and yet, the universe as a whole would barely care.

If you are going to argue from purpose, you need to explain why the universe is so big if it was created just to house earth, which houses us. How does Pluto fit into God's plan for us? If it doesn't, then what does that leave you? It's fine to ignore the reality and focus on things that make you feel cozy, just keep it to yourself please.

In science this is called "the weak anthropic principle" - basically, that we are here by accident. On the opposite side of the same coin we have the "strong anthropic principle" - which says we are here as an expression of the intelligence of the universe.

I'm betting no one will have conclusive "proof" of either of these in my lifetime. Just a hunch.

It wasn't an accident.

Stuff exists.

Time exists.

Given time, things happen to stuff causing stuff to change.

Time continues and things continue to happen and stuff continues to change.

Yes, the physical and chemical properties required for the things you mentioned to occur are quite improbable. However that isn't proof that it didn't happen, because it clearly did. That we are capable of having this discussion here on earth is proof that these properties existed on earth. If they were present on Mars instead, we could just as easily be having this conversation on Mars.

I know this is a difficult concept for some to understand, after all, that's why religion was created.

If it makes you happier to live in religious ignorance, then you do that. But don't let it affect other's lives.

Gravity acting on rubble caused the world. ... Accident? Pffffft!

Is it an "accident" if you jump off a building, you go splat? Pfffft!

You have the hubris to assume YOU were not an "accident?"

I know your parents. You were an accident, darling. And so was everything else. Get over it.

Anything sufficiently complex enough is indistinguishable from 'magic'. It sounds as if your argument for the existence of god is that you don't understand enough about the world around you.

Perhaps if you learned enough about it- it wouldn't seem like 'magic' any more.

my theory is that one of the angels carl i think asked god if he could create a burrito that was so big that he could not eat it, god did and then he created a creature that could eat it, it was named el gordo senoro, and this creature consumed the burrito, and it was written that it gave him terrible gas, which thus came to pass and boom there's the big bang and the rest is history
