forget fighting with the bank, you need to press criminal charges.
when you're done with that, check out USBank. They are a bank dedicated to helping people with poor credit.

Talk to your new bank/credit union and get a passbook savings account. If it is near your home or work you can withdraw money as you need it as part of your everyday activities. This is what people use to do before checking accounts became common. If you can find one with online banking you can pay bills from savings online so you won't need to buy money orders.
The rules say they can hold a check for no longer than 5 working days except for accounts less than 30 days old, or they have reason to think the check is bad. For clearing time it only matters you can prove who you are, it is not relevant what your credit rating is, only the person who wrote the check. To solve your problem of geting a checking account maybe if you can arrange for direct deposit from your employer they would be more willing.

i don't know where you live but in minnesota two banks that are willing to help people with bad history are wells fargo and tcf they are the most leanient. wells fargo let me open a limited checking account after I was in the check system but there was like a $10 monthly fee. TCF lets you open up a regular checking account a year after if you have no more in the cecks system. By tthe way the checks system is what banks use to know about bad accounts it kinda like the credit agencies. I also know that us bank was lenient with my girlfriend also but neither of us where super negleful with our prior checking accounts and I don't know how neglectful your relatives were.
I know that big banks are sometimes more lenient than credit unions so try a national bank. Also most national banks will let you open up a check cashing account where there will be a flat fee for cashing checks as apposed to a percentage fee. I know I went through the check cashing things and sometimes I was paying up to 20-30 to get a check cashed.
also you may want to sue your relatives even though you may not want to, to get this resolved

Take them to small claims court and get something out of it. You will not win the fight with the bank if you signed anything when setting up your cousins account. If you never signed anything or you were under 18 then you need to get a lawyer and get the bank off your ***.

I went through something very similar to what you're going through and it WAS TOUGH ! ! !
What you need to do first is get a police report and whatever else is needed with the crime authorities.
If you have to press charges against your relatives THEN SO BE IT ! !
And do this immediately or you risk not taking care of this with the police department IN TIME in which case you'll be on Checksystems for 5 whole years ! ! !
After talking to the police THEN take of the problem with the Bank.
LOL p.s. Hang in there ! !

You did not say in which USA city you live so someone can refer you to a bank that may be able to help you.
If you can't afford an attorney, call the Universities in your city and ask for the "Law School."
Ask the person that answers the phone if they have law students that can handle your case for free. If they say no, ask them for the telephone number of The Legal Aid Society, they are an organization that may be able to help you.
Good Luck.

you will not have the skill to supply something with you SSN on it, so as that they gained't open you an account. whether they do open you an account, sure you would be at last caught and prosecuted. Your proper guess would be to open a extreme danger finding out. merely confer with a interior of sight economic business enterprise branch approximately what you are able to and could do.

My advice is contact a lawyer. You will need to prove that your name was to be removed when the parents got back. You should have some type of prove if it was. In that case, it will prove that you were supposed to be removed. You can dispute this with checksystems.
