yes, I give 10% to my church. It pays for our lesson books, song books, electric bill, water bill, and best of all to local home for boys and girls, to groceries for local people in need, for clothing for local people in need, etc, etc. Also I give away clothes to people, never sell them, as well as household items they may need. God blesses me by providing for every need I have. Just when I think I can't pay a bill I get unexpected money in a rebate or an insurance adjustment out of the blue. Give and it will be given back to you.

Yes I do, both. We don't tithe to give God worldly money, you are right, He doesn't need our money. The church does. I go to a church that is very small, we go by the Word of God and that's it. We are to tithe and give with a grateful heart. The Bible clearly says to tithe. Look at it this way, if you never put money in a bank account, then you go to the bank to take money out, what do you have? Nothing. That's not to say that God blesses only those who tithe, not at all. Since I have been tithing my entire life is different, no worries on how bills will get paid, I can't explain it, God just provides for me. I didn't tithe when I had cancer, God cured me of it, and only He could, doctors only gave me 9 mths. to a year to live, that was in 2001, I am cancer free and feeling great. Now that I have found my church, The Voice of Hope, everything just falls into place!!! So yes, I believe all Christians should tithe. BTW...I didn't do chemo for my cancer either, I gave it up to the Lord.

Yes to tithe and no to offerings.

I give at least 10% of the money I earn to various charities. Jews are instructed to do so when they can afford it.

I do not give sacrifices. Jews are only instructed to do that when The Temple is standing. I don't have time to go into too much detail about why anyone would ever give sacrifices, but it's very different from what you might think. It's got nothing to do with giving G-d your money or your animals.

If you'd like to know more about either, from a Jewish point of view, I'd be happy to go on.

yes i do give tithes and offerings...it is biblical to return what belongs to God...tithes is the 10% share of God from your income...offering is something you share out of the 90% that is being left in you...it is up to you whether you will give offering or not as long as the 10% you give it back to God...the more you share the more you will be blessed...blessings comes at different forms...could be good health, happy family life, peacelful living , money etc...

by the way, the tithes we give is being used to support the ministry of God...to build church and to support all church workers, to support in spreading the His word to all His children ....

I donate a small amount of money to the church to help fund the youth programs and to help buy the coffee and donuts for coffee hour! I also donate a small amount to the building fund on occasion (we are trying to build a new church because we don't have enough room for all the parishioners!!)

I don't feel obligated to donate to the church community, but I feel good about helping. I benefited from the donations of other when I was in the youth program, so now I look at it as my way to give back :)

Yes I also give 10 Percent of my gross earnings. Why? Well the first thing that you have to understand is that God doesn"t need my money, He already owns everything! It really is about me making a commitment to God. The interesting thing is that God is never outdone in generosity.

I give offerings to my gods but I don't give them money. What would they want money for? Do you think they are going out and partying? What would they do with money?

Hugs

Nope. But I've given money to help animal shelters and the ASPCA. I consider that more important

i offer what i have when i have it to those that are in need. and the church is not one of them.
i rather give to a starving man than to give to a preacher with his/her hand held out, so that way they can give their doggies air conditioning, or just to read their book.
(i'm refering to jim and tammy faye baker, back in their day, or anyone like them)

I do not donate to any church. I donate to food banks, animal shelters, and any fund raiser for a good cause.
