Wouldn't limiting the vast amount of industrial and/or automotive - related pollution that is generated on a daily basis have a far greater impact than anything that any one person could possibly do? This sounds to me like the concept of recycling - companies still manufacture almost everything out of cardboard and plastic without fail which almost always winds up in the trash rather than in recycling boxes - and even if it is in a recycling box, many refuse/disposal companies appear to handle it in the same way as garbage... It makes more sense to make change at the source rather than trying to make some kind of small impact at the consumer-level... If the various existing environmental groups truly care about their planet, I am quite sure that they could enact laws that would have a far greater impact than these inadequate solutions... I challenge these groups to work more assertively on enacting proper legislature to make the effective changes that are required.

Be careful what you ask for. You may just get it.

Because the manufacturers wouldn't make as much money if they had to change. They offer things like the Toyota Prius and recycled paper so they can say they are doing their part, but in reality they are just fooling the vast majority. In fact, the Prius causes more pollution and uses more energy than the Hummer 3 (based on when it is "born" to when it "dies"). And recycling usually takes more energy than using raw materials (except with metals and some glass and plastics). The way the weather is going lately, the planet is going to destroy us before we destroy it.

It's just libtard bulloney being forced down our throats. You can't change, stop, or "fix" nature. It takes care of itself. The only thing we can do is stop littering the countryside with trash thrown from cars or illegally dumped. Laws cost US, not the companies! WE pay for their fixes with higher prices or higher taxation, or both. There is no "solution".
The whiners want to subvert the nation. The latest is to restart nuclear power plants, this from the same libtards that wanted them closed in the first place! We could all be better off if we would just STOP LISTENING TO THEM!! (And get the morons OUT of power!) "Global warming" is a paranoid delusion of idiots who suffer from the brain pollution known as the Chicken Little Syndrome! A bunch of quacks squawking about non-problems.

If the individual is not responsible for their own actions is then the government at fault? Everyone has a duty to their progeny to utilize their resources wisely. Are you willing to pay more for dissolvable packaging than for the contents of the package???

You said "why"... it's ALL about money! Nothing becomes a "trend" or "aimed at the consumer" in GENERAL, unless there's money to be made from it.

Things that make sense, that are the most efficient, don't necessarily make enough money.

MOST people don't want to do things that are TRULY helpful, they want to do what Oprah (& others like her) tells them to, THAT is how you make money. What is POPULAR is what is TRENDY is what MAKES MONEY.

THAT is "The Secret".

I think with time, and a lot of people, we would reverse the things that are happening in the enviroment today, with simple changes. I don't think that it should be a "everyone turn your gas powered cars over to vegetable oil powered cars/everything organic now" type of fast paced change, but over the years, I hope that we can get there. If you look at the world around you, you can see that we are killing ourselves (our immune systems, for example, are not as strong as they should be because of all the medicines we have put inside our bodies). Sad thing about the world is, people are so selfish and not willing to change to better humankind. So many people are close-minded as well. I believe it's quite sad that people will allow their food to be chemically altered and cloned. I think it's also quite funny that when we think of drinking breast milk it disgusts us, but reality is, we are drinking the milk of another animal (and that animal has so many steriods and hormones pumped into it). Have you ever heard that people get fat from taking steriods, maybe the steriods in your food are keeping you, or people around you. fat. I could go on and on about food, but I won't. If you want to read more on it, Kevin Trudeau has a few great books about lossing weight, living longer, and being healthy.

Mother Nature will replenish herself, with or without us. If we continue to live the way we are, we won't be able to see the beauty of the earth for much longer.

I could also go into medicines, illnesses, and probably give you my educated opinion on those things as well, but honestly, I don't have that kind of time.

For the people that want to continue on living their lives, being unhealthy, not caring about the world around you, I wish only for you not to be completely ignorant for the rest of your life, and when you want to debate something, bring some facts to the table. As for me, I will continue to be a liberal and continue to educate myself, as well as speak out about the things I do know.
