I'm on 3mg. If I take 6mg what would happen?

Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. Why stop at just 6mg? And why bother with doctors when you can get such accurate and beneficial free medical advice on Yahoo! Answers?

Taking more than what is prescribed is never a good idea. There is a reason as to why something is in the quantity that it is given. Taking more of any kind of sleeping pill can cause neural defects. Lunesta is a brain altering drug. It puts your brain receptors to sleep. There is a reason why 3mg is the highest dosage, and that is because that is all the brain can tollerate in moderation. Taking too many could cause adverse reactions, such as brain defects, slurred speech, coma, and many other medical problems. Really think twice about taking more than what is prescibed, you might not get a second chance to wake up.

Medications like that are prescribed based on body weight and taking to much will intensify the effect but if you're not careful it will intensify any side effects. Plus if you take a lot over an extended period of time you risk building up a tolerance to it so you'd have to take more just to get the same effect. It's much safer to stick to the prescribed limits.

Speaking from experience, you'll sleep really, really deeply. So deeply that if you have the slightest urge to pee you're not going to wake up to go to the bathroom. Your whole body will relax, including your rectum. This will release unwelcome bile to your nice crisp sheets. You will be very tired when you wake up about 16 hours after you took the meds. Overall, you're not going to die, but you probably don't want to do it.

I would not suggest doubling up on Lunesta.I take this occasionally and I have suffered some seriously uncomfortable side-effects.I have horrible headaches, heartburn, and am anxious the next day.

It could have a reverse effect. It will keep you awake. Speak to your doctor before uping the medicine you may need to be on something else

You could die twice as fast.

All medications are toxic in larger doses. Always stay with the amount prescribed to you.

Never, ever double your doses on your own !

double the doses doesn't´t mean double the effect, but it can double the risk of secondary (unwanted) effects

Do not do it because you might become addicted to the pill...
