God does forgive, but only after we seek Him, in earnest repentance. Repentance is more than just saying "I'm sorry" It's also changing so we never commit the offense again.

And God doesn't hate us. He loved us so much He gave His Son to suffer and die for us. God hates sin, and if we are clinging to a sin we need to repent of, it can feel an awful lot like God hates us, but He doesn't, and He never will, it doesn't matter how long it's been.

Before going back to the church, go back to the Bible. The Bible is the Lord's love letter to us. Read from the New Tesatament, and focus your mind on the gospel: Jesus Christ, born of a virgin as the Son of God, lived a perfect life, died a perfect death, and rose again three days later, conquering the power of sin and death forever. We are saved from sin and death by the Grace of God, through faith alone. Spend about a week refreshing your memory of the wonders of the Lord our God, and pay close attention to the parable of the prodigal son.

Keep in mind that though the Lord always accepts those who seek Him, churches do not always take kindly to people leaving and then coming back. I hope that is not the case with the church you attend, but if it is, keep reading your Bible, pray for that church, and then find a new body to worship the Lord with. Remember, religion is man-made, but a relationship with the Lord is not necessarily religious in nature. Rather, the actions of a person of faith look like religion to the outside eye, but feel like blessings from the Lord.

Welcome back, my brother-in-Christ

I noticed the time line of your love life, and does the first time your heart was broked have anything to do with you stopping going to church? I know that that is a strange questoin, but believe it or not they are related.

I think that God understands that you were backing off from your relationship with Him because you wanted to find love. Ironic thing is it will be a lot harder for you to have a strong relationship unless God is in the picture.

It is kind of like building your house on the sand without a foudation or frame. It will keep falling apart. I know I was there for 3 years. It wasn't until I let God back into my heart and I became "cemented" to Him before I found my current husband.

God never forgot about you and he never will, He is just waiting for you to come back home so that he can take care of you.
What are you waiting for?

First we have a forgiving God, he sent his only son to die on the cross for our sins, If your game check out the first 4 books of the new Testament there you will find that Jesus is a loving and care. Also go into the book of acts.. But also look for JOHN 3:16 this is a huge reminder.. Also remember that he will never leave your side.

Oh my goodness!!! God has NOT forgotten about you AT ALL!!! God knows everything you've been through and he knows your heart better than you yourself do! God DOES NOT hate you for not going to church for the last few years!!! It looks to me like you walked away from HIM, but you know what? God is slow to anger and quick to forgive if you just confess that you've walked away from him and ask his forgiveness and get back on track with him!! Go back to church, pick up that Bible and read what He's dying to say to you. Talk to Him. Confess you were wrong, ask His forgiveness and run back to Him! He's waiting with His arms open wide to take you back! Do you know what he said in the Bible about you in Isaiah 49:15-16? He says, "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;.." He took those nails in his hands to engrave your name in them. All you have to do is put your hand in His. He can't love you any more and he won't love you any less. He's waiting to hear from you....
peace and God bless!

Hello... and NO God does NOT hate you! God does hate your sin (our sin) because it separates us from Him. God has not forgotten you friend, and as for your sins there's a remedy: God's Son's blood is able to make the foulest sinner clean... which means there's hope for all of us here on earth! God saw you and what things would happen in your life, and He's waiting for YOU to return to Him, get back on track spiritually and get on with God! He is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins and will throw them into the sea of forgetfulness... never to remembered against you again! Talk to God, just as you would a friend, and share your heart with Him. Tell Him what's on your heart, why you left the church, and ask Him to help you to make the way back into the House of God and back into His fellowship. Be blessed friend and look unto Him!

Jesus says 'where two or more people talk about me, there will i be..." so when you talk to others or they talk/pray with you, it is church, it is praise, it is honoring him. it does not have to take place in a building. if you remember, Jesus despised the church of his time. he forgives everyone and promises not to forsake us (forget us).

peace,
lily
