here's the whole process:
Basic Training
Infantry School
Airborne School
Ranger Introductory Phase
Ranger School (it has 6 phases)
Assignment to a Ranger Bn.
I think RIP is the hardest part, since is where the instructors will weed out the ones that will fail and only a small margin will be accepted into Ranger School; then Ranger School comes and THAT is the hardest part; is like a kick in the nads with a steel-toed boot; six grueling pahses spread across the US.
Not for the faint of heart and definitely not for the wannabees.

The Ranger part. Basic, Airborne, and Ranger training are all different beasts. At basic you should get PTed a lot. Airborne isn't hard as long as you're in decent chape. I've never been to Ranger training, but I heard it's not easy.

Man you are highly confused. Before you even step foot on ranger school, you have to be an infantryman, with airborne training under your belt. Then you vie to get into ranger school. Once you get in, you have to try every waking moment to stay in, as they look for any excuse to get rid of you.

Just do it and find out who you are. Cliche as it may sound just bow your head and take each minute as it comes until you come out the other side.
