Will I still be able to see HDTV on my 720p television when say, NBC broadcasts in 1080i?

The HDTV standard supports both 720p and 1080i broadcasts. Different networks have chosen to broadcast each resolution (See the link for a list).

One advantage of 720p is that, as a progressive signal, fast action is better rendered. On the other hand 1080i gives a slightly (although not noticable on all but quite large TVs) finer picture.

HDTVs will all handle both resolutions, although they might or might not handle a 1080p signal ... but this is not a current (nor anticipated) option for broadcast HDTV. So ... you have nothing to worry about.

Yes. The set will convert it from 1080i to 720p.
