I completely understand, I started losing my hair when I was 20. Rogaine is expensive, has to be used everyday, and if you stop you do lose what you gained. I completely agree that some of the pill hair loss treatments have too severe of side-effects to tempt me to try them. The other option is transplant, but I wouldn't suggest it at 23. I'm sorry to tell you this but you are just going to keep losing more hair. The good news is that most women don't care, I can attest to that, and no one will care more about it than you. So if you can accept it you will be much happier.

Hey,
There are many factors that can attribute to hair recession or massive hair fall and you need to find out which one exactly is responsible for the problem you are having now. Of course male pattern baldness is still the most common cause, but, for instance, if you are a woman things are deinitely different! This is the reason why you will need to really dig down and see the source of your problem.
Other causes of hair loss may include (both in men and women): severe mental or emotional stress, excessive use of coloring or bleaching agents, traction alopecia or excessive strain on the scalp due to braiding or corn rowing, hormonal changes, alopecia areata or hair loss due to autoimmune diseases, and many more. Each of these conditions will require a different approach in order to achieve success regardless of whether you're going to be using conventional or natural methods.
In my opinion it's much better to use natural methods as opposed to conventional ones, they're cheaper, have less to no side effects, and often more effective.
A good way of regaining your full head of healthy natural hair is well described on this guide: http://hairagain.toptips.org
Cheers.

Yes, Rogaine and Propecia work pretty good. But, I wouldn't try Rogaine or Propecia until you have exhausted every alternative to avoid their side effects. Any gains that you get with Rogaine will be lost once you discontinue its use.
I am a stylist that specializes in hair regeneration and hair loss. I have several clients who started losing their hair and applied several products to their hair, only to be not completely satisfied by their results. Last year, I found an all-natural hair growth product, that was cheaper and just as effective, if not better, than Rogaine and Propecia.
Remember, you have to attack your hair loss on the inside and the outside. Although baldness can be hereditary, depending on how early in the process you catch it, you can keep your hair. By using a great hair growth regimen, you can stimulate hair regrowth. A good plan has three necessary components: a healthy eating plan, substantial water intake, and a high quality hair growth and hair care product.
Step One: Buy a High Quality Hair Growth Product
I suggest you go all-natural. Unnatural hair care products are a no-no for someone who wants long-lasting, healthy hair growth. Find a hair growth product that contains powerful essential oils, natural herbs, and vitamin rich nutrients your hair needs to survive. Look for products with ingredients such as: Aloe Vera, Citrus Fruits, Jojoba, Rosemary, and Sage. Make sure you stray away from all natural products that use natural extracts. Extracts are not as powerful as essentials oils. They are a cheap substitute for the real thing. Although there are several natural hair care products on the market, not all hair growth products are created equal. Make sure you read the fine print. Most “natural” products still contain phosphates, sodium lauryl sulfate, petroleum, mineral oil, and other lab created humectants that ultimately damage your hair. My advice---if you can’t read the ingredients, don’t buy the product. When I was searching for a natural hair growth product, I found one really great buy, Beauty 4 Ashes Super Hair Growth System. Finding this company took me awhile; but Beauty 4 Ashes pretty much gives you everything you need to make your hair grow. Foremost, I checked the ingredient listings and the products contained no artificial ingredients. The system also included hair growth vitamins, a great hair healthy eating plan, and even scalp stimulating hair growth exercise routine. In 9 months, I saw clients go from thinning hair patches to fuller heads of hair. You can find it easily at www.discoverb4a.com.
Step Two: A Healthy Hair Eating Plan
Your hair is all protein. Thus, you need a protein rich diet, chocked fill of B Vitamins and other hair-strengthening nutrients. Increase your intake of fish. It is full of healthy proteins and essential fatty acids and natural oils your hair needs. In addition, drink a protein supplement or shake everyday.
Step Three: Drink Water
Eight to ten glasses of water is an absolute requirement. Drinking water flushes your body of toxins, chemicals, and impurities that stifle your hair growth and disrupt your hormone and enzyme imbalances.

it depends on the person, just like all medications do not work the same in all people, this may or may not help with your hair growth. It is definitely worth a try though. good luck
