1640: The first book printed in America, "The Whole Booke of Psalmes Faithfully Translated into English Metre," was published in Cambridge, Mass. More commonly called the Bay Psalm Book, it contained new versions of all the psalms.

If the psalms were "faithfully translated" , why did it contain NEW versions of all the psalms? It sounds like they messed with them.. I wonder how it was messed with. What did they change?

I find it "distrubing" that someone with your level of education can't use a spell check either!

"New versions" methinks might be what you are getting at, contrasted with "Faithfully Translated into English Metre." Would have thought there are several contradictions in there.

because the spanish had printed books before then. also the mayans had written language but i don't think they printed them, more like carved.
