I made a terrible mistake flying with American Airlines last Feb. They bumped me from my flight lost my bags and gave me a seat in the middle when I reserved a seat isle side because of a medical condition I have. The port for my headset was broken and I had three one year olds screaming for the whole 13 hour flight to Tokyo from DFW. I have done the e-mails and Faxes thing, they don't have a phone line. I have tried calling in through the reservation line. I have even contacted a news station. I think they own me and the excuse they have is they are back logged because Jan.& Feb. were just "Bad Months" for the Airline. How do I get my case heard?

Paul must be blessed. He has no idea how to contact these people. It has been too long and you have too many problems for the baggage people to help you. You need to go to the airport near you and talk with a real person at this point. I constantly have trouble with American Airlines and think you couldn't get this done on the phone.

1) I've never had an experience like this on AA, and they always reply to me through customer service.

2) The AA phone number for baggage delayed longer than 5 days is 1-800-866-4010 or 1-972-425-5240.

3) The delayed baggage page for AA is http://www.aa.com/aa/i18nForward.do?p=/travelInformation/baggage/delayedOrDamaged.jsp -- on this page are links to FAQs, procedures, and a page where you can enter your baggage ID number and it will let you know where it is or at least what to do about it.

4) Did you tell them about your medical condition before or after they changed your seat assignment? My guess is no, because I am quite sure you would have been re-seated if it were a legitimate concern.

5) In 20 years of flying, I have only 3 times experienced a baggage delay, and those times I got my bags within 24 hours. I have never heard of anyone who truly "lost" their luggage like you claim. What did you do to retrieve it? Did you go to the AA Baggage desk at the airport to file the claim? Who did you speak to? What did you say?

You got bumped from a flight, the airline lost all of your bags, you didnt get the seat you wanted, and the airline gave free seats to 3 one year olds if they promised to scream at you all the way to Tokyo. Oh yes, they also broke your headset jack.

You sound like a whining malcontent looking for sympathy, and the only way you seem to get it is to belittle others.

What do you think they owe you? I don't mean that in a snide way, rather that you should decide what to ask for. They're more likely to respond if you list your problems and tell them what you want as compensation (travel vouchers, air miles, etc.).
