I just returned from Egypt the end of March. I was at a drs. clinic and the dr., in conversation told me the USA is offering green cards to Egyptian men that are young and healthy is this really true? He stated that they must agree to a certain time of service and that there are no benefits for them even if injured or killed until their initial time of service is completed. It sounds absurd to me. I looked at him very puzzled. He with a very serious face said he had been at the USA Embassy in Cairo and had himself witnessed the visa being given. Can anyone guide me to how I find out if this is our current policy, is there any truth to this story?

this sounds plausible, many non-citizens serve in the u.s. military, and besides, they speak Arabic. I doubt you will find info on it, since this would be a good infiltration point for terrorists, and is probably done on the down low. If occuring these individuals likely work with u.s. military personnel in egypt and have been considered trust worthy, maybe?

Foriegners that meet certain qualifications can gain citizenship through the U.S. military. They get the same benefits as everyone else. The CIA probably hires Egyptians, but since they won't be working in the U.S. there would be no need for a green card.

Nope, it is against federal law for the military to recruit foreign nationals.

Legal resident aliens with green cards are not foreign nationals.

It is against federal law for the military to recruit outside the United States or it's territories.

I'd take what the doctor said in the same grain as the Palestinian radio station that reported that Israeli jets were taking off from Israels aircraft carrier to bomb targets in the Westbank.

Im sure the Israeli's were surprised to learn they owned an aircraft carrier..........lol

the military will take non citizens, if they have a valid visa already.....but they dont recruit in other countries or hand out green cards...and everyone who enlists gets the same benefits. once a non citizen is in the military it is easier for them to obtain citizenship than someone who isnt, they dont have to pay the application fees for example...and some of the time requirements and waiting are waived.

Simple answer: NO

The military might hire Egytians for translation but the Arabic dialect is different by regions.
