Why doctor do not have cat in their home?
Why do Chinese parent not allow their children contact with cat?
Do they know some thing from thousands years on obsevation?

My primary care has 2 & my gyno has 1. If Chinese parents don't allow cats in contract with their children, they are depriving them of a wonderful experience.

It has nothing to do with cats causing cancer, probably more likely the Chinese parent doesn't want their child to get attached to something it will eat.
Cats can get cancer (as do dogs).
Cat scratch desease (CSD) is common but I do not consider it a big deal, I have a cat and I suffer Lymphoma (NHL). They are great company.

Some studies have shown that owning pets as children decreases a child's risk of developing asthma, while others contradict this.
