If a suicide hotline really thinks you're a danger to yourself they HAVE to call an ambulance. That's what they did to me anyway. I didn't want to go to the hospital but, they didn't really give me a choice.

hello, you have the privacy you need to contact a crisis line and remain annonymous, however, if you are in immediate danger to yourself, the call will be traced, usually with your knowledge.

If you call in, the crisis line worker will work with you to better help you and listen to your needs. A "contract" can be made for you to call back, in an hour, or the next day to see how you are.
Most suicide calls are at the discression of the volunteer but always taken seriously.
When a call is traced, the police or ambulance will be sent to the place of the call, but this is discussed with the caller first.
BUT again if you protest and do not want an ambulance, it ultimately is at the discression of the volunteer who has talked with you abit to see how stressfull the situation is for you.

oh, caller id? NO! This has to be annonymous for our safety and yours. The call comes in to an answering service and then who ever is "on call" or available to take your call, usually a volunteer from thier home, recieves a call from this answering service and they patch your call to the volunteer.
You have the security of calling without others knowing who you are.

anyone can get your number with caller ID. I doubt they would do anything unless you asked them to. They want you to talk and get to a place in your head so you don't hurt yourself.
