My boyfriend and I are going to be getting matching tattoos soon. The tattoo is very important to us because it's going to represent my miscarriage - I was pregnant with twins. I know exactly what I want - an elephant (the head only) with two tears coming down its cheek. I don't want the whole elephant because I want the tears to be easily visible. My problem is that I don't want it to look like I have a floating elephant head on my body so I need some advice on what I should get around the head so it looks complete. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Don't get a border (your tattoo artist would tell you this too)!
What would look really great is text either above or below (or both). Did you have names picked out? Do you remember the date? Is there some quote that got you through this tragedy? Something that has mening to you as well that can flow around the elephant to make your tattoo flow with your body.

Hi Dannie, I am so sorry about your lose. I hope you are doing okay sweetie. I think the elephant head with the 2 tears is a awesome ideal and it came work for you. Put this in honer of you babies on your lower back that is the best spot on your body to get this done right. The elephant will not look like it is floating, it will look beautiful and you will love it. Have the tattoo artist drawn you what you want. Then my friend it will be a one of a kind. Your ideal is great and a beautiful way to honer your babies. I say go for it girl.
A Friend.

Do something like rays of light all the way sround it. It doesnt even have to be yellow rays it could be any color really. You could possibly get roses or something if you want but that may take away from the tears.

Sorry about your lose, my mom had a miscarriage, dont let it affect you or your futre, Also good luck with a baby in the future if you decide to give it a try agian.

You might take your idea to an artist and explain what your thinking. They are really a big help. Have you thought of an angel with a baby in each arm? Sorry for your loss.

Something simple, like tall grass in front of it.
So it doesn't take away from the main picture.
Talk it over with your artist. There are a million
and one choices. Ink Is For Life.

Do a grey-wash background.. it'll look really good, and stop the floating elephant.
Sorry about your misfortune.
Good luck!

I suggest a bit more color like blues and greens. Maybe some water surrounding the Koi and Japanese flowers.
