Just for any basic pair of headphones, usually happens to cheaper ones faster. Im just tired of them going out in one side.

This is due to the way they are wired. You can do nothing usually because the inner wiring is fiber coated and splicing destroys the integrity. Buy a good pair, usually the larger ones for studio use will last longer. I have had mine for twelve years. Oh yeah, the sound quality is also much better. Try and remember not to twist the wires, they are very sensitive. Do not fold them, tie knots in them, or wrap them around themselves. Seriously just get a fifty dollar studio pair from a music store.

Heh. I had this problem all the time back in grade school, when all I could get for my Walkman were those five-dollar earphones from the electronics department at Ames. I just used Scotch-tape to fix them. 8-D You bend the wire of the dead earphone up around the earphone until you can hear it, then tape it into place with several pieces of tape. Then rinse and repeat about every other week, when the connection comes loose again.

... But, seriously. You really are a lot better off just getting a new pair. Since upgrading to the twenty-dollar earphones from Target, I've saved myself a lot of frustration ... and tape! 8-D

The odds of both sides breaking at the same time are slim.

You could cut up two half broken pairs and slice them back together, but they are so cheap its not even worth it.

Buy the expensive ones because eventually,if you keep buying the cheap ones,it might sum up to the value of an expensive one! :)

Try jiggling the ear phone connector to the computer around a bite.
