My pet dove has been laying eggs, 2 at a time, for the past month (she never did before). All she wants to do now is sit on her eggs, she doesn't seem happy anymore and won't come out of her cage. She is about a year old if that helps.

One person told me that I should throw the eggs away as soon as she lays them, but I don't want to traumatize her. What should I do?

remove the eggs or she will get depressed constantly sitting on babies that never come. If you remove the egg right away she wont remember 5 seconds later.

yes throw away the eggs, if there isnt a male in the cage with her .. she is nesting on eggs that wont hatch , and will get bummed out sitting there all the time caring for dead eggs

Throw the eggs away or when they dont hatch she will go crazy. I myself have birds and know this is what you should do
