I promise I'm not trying to be rude...but if your best friend died from "inhalants", why are you still putting bad things into your body? Smoking only on weekends doesn't make it any less harmful. Just flat out tell your mom and I hope she helps you quit.

Whichever way you tell her won't change her reaction, so best just make a time when you can take her aside and be straight, a time and place where the immediate fallout will not affect others.
You have made a decision to smoke 'herbs', so if you are sure you don't want to keep it a secret, take responsibility for it and tell her.
I'll join in on the lecturing. Best to quit. Smoking on weekends does lead to other things, and don't think it won't happen to you cause it can. Plenty of people before have said "I will never do anything else....". Several people i know have not exactly ruined their lives, but have gone through difficulties that are hard to get out of saying the same things as you.
I am interested to know what your research was.

She really probly already knows. Just tell her when it seems liek she's in a good mood. Tell her you just wanted to let her know because you enjoy having an honest and open relationship with her and want to keep it that way. It's likely she won't be happy about it of course (unless she's a closet toker herself lol) but she will be glad of the fact you were able to tell her and be honest about it. It will make her feel good that you can tell her this, even if she might now show it. GL You're making the right move! (Just don't start disrespecting her space and property by smoking everywhere and not caring because she knows.)

"Herbs" may not be physically addictive but they will alter your life in many other ways, they can seriously damage your motivation to do anything to better your self. Plust the occasional weekend smoking, will still show up on any employers drug test, you do know, even just a little on the weekend, recreationally, will stay in your sytem for up to one entire month. So, sorry about your moms past dos or don'ts with drug and or alcohol use, it probably won'tmatter much, when you consider all of this.

Thats a decision you have to make on your own.. If ur mom is really the way you say she will probably be mad at you, but in the end she is your mom and she will understand you and hopefully try to tell you whats best for you, which is probably to quit smoking, even if you need help, you should tell her, just sit down and tell her alone, she wont kill you for it, but she will most likely be upset and try to help you.. I hope everything goes well, hope my advice works and dont forget that your mom will always be there for you no matter what.. :-)

It's a good sign that you feel like you need to tell her. You know she'd want to know and you don't feel good about doing it behind her back. Go with that feeling. Treat her how you know she'd want to be treated. There may be unpleasant moments, but I'm sure she loves you a great deal and your relationship with her will survive and maybe even become stronger by you coming clean.
By the way, I'm sure your conscience tells you it's wrong to smoke "herbs" regardless of your research. Follow your conscience and you'll avoid a great deal of pain for you and those who care about you.

Well I am going to put it this way. Your mom was a kid once too and I am sure that she is not perfect. Trust me. I have heard stories from older people that I would not even believe. Anyway back to your question. If it is going to upset her either 1. Don't tell her or 2. Quit then tell her that you used to but you quit.

It's not exactly clearing the air, but you should say "dammit mom, I'm a pothead and you should love me anyway!" By the way, I suggested just this approach to a friend a few years ago and his dad called the cops. Good luck.

its not going to go over well PERIOD. you could buy her a brand new car and write it on the hood she would still snap. you are breaking the law. endangering your future. she dont wanna see u go thru that she loves u.
so if u decide to tell her prepare for the consequences, Cuz there WILL be some. she gonna start smelling your clothes, keeping u from going out, going thru ur stuff. she might put u on restriction just for tellin her.
ppl dont tend to just "accept" when their kids are drug users, they usually try to prevent it. its not the type of thing u just come to terms with.
