because of the worms. is there a way to hook the worm without well...screaming?thnk you! btw, were fishin trout.

Go practice now. Use some gummy worms to practice on first if you have to, but work your way up to live worms. They are slimy, and wiggly, so you'll probably find one that will wiggle and get away. If you can get them, use nightcrawlers. These are bigger, and easier to work with, and easier to hook. The skinny ones make smaller targets, and it's easier to stick yourself in the finger with the hook.
Oh, and the nightcrawlers don't have teeth like the little ones.
(Just kidding about the teeth...) :-)

If you have a bag of dry sawdust to dust the worm with before you hook it it wont be slimy

If my two year old daughter can do it, you can do it! Just thread that bad boy back and forth and drop him in. It's only gross until you feel that first tug when a fish swallows your hook, the fisherman's high kicks in and you'll never think about it again -- trust me.
