I agree no one should add to the bible. In the book of Mormon. Words are copy word for word in the book of Mormon.
I believe Joesph Smith and Brigham Young are false prophets. 2 Peter in the bible talks of about false prophets. Plus Jesus taught no more prophets after John of Baptist.

Read Deut. 4:2 and Deut. 12:32 according to your interpretation there could be no books after Deuteronomy. In fact that's what the jews believe.
The only Bible I use is the KJV. The entire Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints sticks to the KJV, precisley for the verse you quoted.
The Book of Mormon is prophecied of in the Bible.
Read:
Ezekiel 37:15-19; Psalms 85:11; 2 Tim 3:16-17; Rev 14:6-7
No, we do not say it's an addition to the Bible. It is another Testament of Jesus Christ. Not an addition to the Bible.
False Prophets? Yes I completely agree.
Read:
Matt 24:9-11, 24 it's very clear. False prophets will arise.
It does not however, say no more prophets will be on earth agian. It does not say all prophet are false prophets.
I understand why you're a little put-off by "Mormons" and some of their teachings. But, being put off, doesn't make them wrong.
Read James 1:5-6. We don't ask you to believe us. We ask you to pray to God and ask him if it is true, just as the Bible commands.
Just as I know Through the power of the Holy spirit that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. He is my personal Savior and the only way to Salvation is through Him and His Atonement.
I hope and pray that you too may be able to shake off the world and pray with all your heart and desire to know if what I testified of is true.
Your loving brother in Christ. Have an awesome day! :)

This question gets asked a lot. The reference you give refers to the "Book of revelation," no the Bible as a whole. Look closely at the passage of scripture you just shared. If you read it closely, you will see that the author John is referring simply to this Book of Revelations, not the entire Bible. Revelations was written searately and was later itself added to the Bible. If John were to mean the whole Bible, then most of the New Testament would be considered an addition because Acts, and the Epistles of Paul were written after Revelations.
Additionally this scripture, Deuteronomy 4:2 says the same thing. Do not add unto this book. If we figure it means the Bible as a whole, everything AFTER Deuteronomy is an addition and contradicts Revelations 22:18-19.
Again the correct interpretation is that these verses simply mean the "book" that they are contained in, not the entire Bible.

"If any MAN shall add unto these things...the words of the book of THIS PROPHECY..."
Man can't add to any scripture, but GOD can.
the book of THIS PROPHECY meaning the book of Revelation, NOT The Bible.
The Book of Mormon is not an addition TO the Bible. It's another Testament of Jesus Christ.
And if the Bible speaks of FALSE prophets, that means that there must be TRUE prophets also. We aren't to be ware of ALL prophets, just the FALSE ones. And Joseph Smith wasn't a FALSE prophet.

The Bible is a collection of sacred writings that were compiled into book format centuries after the death of the original writers. When the Apostle John wrote these verses, the Bible as we know it today had not been compiled yet. Therefore, his words could not possibly be applied to the entire collection of writings today known as the Bible. John was referring specifically to the Book of Revelation.
Additionally, even though Revelation is traditionally placed last in the Bible, most Biblical scholars do not believe that it was the last book to be written among the compiled records contained in the Bible. If your reasoning is true, then those Books would also have to be removed from the Bible and discarded as false.

What the name actually means, I have no idea. But the name of the man who abridged the records that became The Book of Mormon was translated as "Mormon." Apparently the first part of his name, in whatever language he spoke, was a superlative, so Joseph Smith, Jr., translated it as "Mor" (coming from English "more"). "Mon," he claimed, was originally Egyptian in its roots, meaning "good." Thus the man's name was "Better" or "More/Greater Good." Why such a substitution? Well, if the first part of his name were something scandalous in English, then either Joseph or the Lord would have wanted a more acceptable substitute without losing the meaning. "Benjamin Urrutia suggests the name Mormon is derived from Egyptian Mor, 'Love,' and Mon, 'firmly established' rendering Mormon as 'Love is firmly established.' "

I am not a Mormon but my understanding is that this does not refer to the whole Bible but the book of revelation only. In fact, the books of the Bible vary depending on tradition.

We believe that it's talking about the book of Revelations, not the entire Bible. There were parts of the Bible written after Revelations, yet they were included in the BIble.

It simply means not to add to the book of Revelations. It also says that very same thing at the end of Duetoronomy, are we to deduce that everything in the bible following Duetoronomy is false?
As far as Joseph Smith being a false prophet, I say PRAY about it. Who are we to be giving you answers. Ask God and gain your OWN testimony of the truthfullness as we have.
God bless,
Sarah

This is what i've got to say:
The Book of Mormon is not an addition to the bible, it is ANOTHER testament of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith DID NOT make those things up. How could a man with a 3rd grade education out of nowhere write false records of a man named Nephi, Alma, Moroni, etc.
And don't call the Book of Mormon "OUR BIBLE". We have the same bible as you (King James Version?) plus another one that is from the Lord.
What that scripture means is if anybody messes with the bible. The Holy Bible has been translated so many times throughout history, making it untrue. There are many false bibles out there as people with add to them or change things to fit their lifestyles.
Ezekiel 37: 16-17 prophesies of Joseph writing the Book of Mormon to tell the records of "the children of Isreal".
16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and dwrite upon it, For Joseph, the fstick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:
17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.
So the first "stick" is the Bible and the second is the BOM. It says also that they will come together, like they do in our church. So he is important and was mentioned in the bible more than once.
In Moses, it even speaks of another book, or record:
41 And in a day when the children of men shall esteem my words as naught and take many of them from the book which thou shalt write, behold, I will raise up another like unto thee; and they shall be had again among the children of men—among as many as shall believe.
So that's all I got for you today. : )

Your interpretation of Revelation 22 falls in line with the hordes of others that refuses to comprehend the scriptures. The Book of Mormon does not add nor does it take away from the Book of Revelation or from the Bible itself. Both sets of scriptures compliment one another.
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and it was prophesied by Ezekiel (Ezekiel 37: 16-20) that the Bible and the Book of Mormon--the Sticks of Judah and of Ephraim--would join. And they have!
But of course, you're not ready to comprehend any of this although the truth stares you in the face as prophesied in OTHER BOOKS in the Bible.
The LDS Church knows well what false prophets you refer to and they are not among this Church.
I'm beating a dead drum for those with eyes closed and ears covered--and you are one of them, sad to say.
Added: This new poster--Osama bin Laden--needs to be educated in proper forum behavior.
