It is too important not to make everyone aware the latter part of 2004 revealed some significant signs, the hurricanes in Florida, and the earthquake in the Indian Ocean, which caused the subsequent tsunami. These events were only months apart.

Let’s start with two words translated from the Greek earthquakes and sorrows.

earthquakes

G4578 seismos (sice-mos') From G4579; a commotion, that is, (of the air) a gale, (of the ground) an earthquake: - earthquake, tempest.

G4579 seio (si'-o) Apparently a primary verb; to rock (vibrate, properly sideways or to and fro), that is, (generally) to agitate (in any direction; cause to tremble); figuratively to throw into a tremor (of fear or concern): - move, quake, shake.

The subject determines the word seismos. If the subject is the air it means a gale or tempest. If the subject is the ground it means earthquake. Seismos is not limited to the air and ground, it can be a commotion, tremor, and shaking of many diverse subjects.

sorrows

G5604 odin (o-deen') Akin to G3601; a pang or throe, especially of childbirth: - pain, sorrow, travail.

The word odin means the birth pangs or contractions of childbirth which get closer together right up to delivery.

Next two verses spoken by Jesus Christ.

Matt.24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Matt.24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

In diverse places there shall be commotion, tremors, and shaking. The obvious signs of the beginning of a birth. The birth pangs of a new age, a new dispensation. The contractions are getting closer together and the water sac just broke. How long till birth?

Soon!

It is not for man to know the time. Nor should we surmise much to any extent this is guessing and predicting God.

Many sects keep their people on the edge of their seat with "the end is right around the corner" thought set.

Look at the next verses!!!!

9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation, and put you to death; and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake.
10 And then many will fall away, and betray one another, and hate one another.
11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.
12 And because wickedness is multiplied, most men's love will grow cold.
13 But he who endures to the end will be saved.

Here we see that "THEY" (figure out who this is!) will make great trouble and will kill because a Christian takes the name of Christian and this will happen in all nations not just one or two.

And false prophets (teacher/leaders here) will lead many astray.
-
What could this mean? First if you are a Christian you will be given troubles and even murdered and these false teachers will not be teaching Christianity.

There is more here a lot more - it is in the wording of the Greek.

Now about your translation.
You do not error in what you have copied down.

Think of Yahshua and how he taught - on more than one level and in parable form.

Often when we feel a foul wind in the air or a negative atmosphere we state this, we feel this. Often others feel the intangible also even though nothing seems to have changed.

Here a "trembling", an "agitation", - such as an atmosphere full of fear.
BUT
This is the beginning of travails (difficulties).

Keep it in the spiritual and out of the material. Men (and women) continue to look for the physical signs such as earthquakes and stuff but it is to be read on the spiritual level.

Keep this out of the physical and into the spiritual.

Your fellow servant. -C

Exactly what you explain is right but there are a few people in this world that know the whole world of Christianity and others are in for such an awakening ,as the word says ...And except those days be shortened, there should be no flesh saved: but for the elect"s sake those days shall be shortened.

It will be quick and it will come like a thief in the night. We do not know the time, but our Lord has asked us to be ready. : )
