In Mark 10:15, Jesus tells us that unless we become as little children we can not enter the Kingdom of God.
Children accept things by faith.

He is talking about Human arrogance here. The wise and understanding are not that at all. Do you really think that everything that you see is true as far as rich politicians or rich people in general? Just because they're high profile and they give themselves awards on TV doesn't make them wise at all. The babes of this world are the homeless and the people who don't have...right? Isn't that how we are down here? The haves are great and mighty and the have-nots are stupid. Or so we say. Narcissism is the poison of the Human soul.

I think it's because the wise and understanding are often just wise and understanding enough to be dangerous. Revealing it to "babes" means that instead of jumping to conclusions by relating these things to knowledge they already have, they are innocent and pure in their quest to know more.

I am atheist but sounds like if god was or is real and this was the case, that maybe god fears this because even the wise can become curropt. Also the if a wise person became curropt he would probably be most destructive because he/she would understand life and things better then most people.
A wise person has grand knowledge on understanding life but a good and loyal and morally good person is a person that can be trusted.
Just because you are wise doesnt mean your are a good person.

those who are "wise in their own eyes" or who "lean upon their own understanding" won't be able to see anything beyond the end of their nose, is basically what He's saying. But, because I am talking to people here who are "wise in their own eyes" and who are "leaning on their own understanding", it is very doubtful that I have a snowball's chance in a bar-b-que pit of showing them what God reveals to those who have a young child's eagerness to learn, or a young child's willingness to be taught new things.
Not saying you are like that, but, as the prince told Cinderella, "if the shoe fits, wear it."

anti-established religion...pro- spirituality, make the world a better place by smiling. that book is not law. people say they take my word as the Gospel. no disrespect intended. but it seems by passing it to the babes the next generation will be wiser making the world better. if you really study the bible then why dont you think that there is no why, its the bible law GOD. NO NEED FOR WHY.

I Corinthians 1:18-
18For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
