especially in the "Religion and Spirituality" (spirituality... yeah, right!) section? If one dares to say that no religion is better than other, you'll be given thumbs down by almost everybody, which makes be believe that people are, indeed, spiritually blind.

Yup....lol

Faith is the sixth sense which somehow* we all have because God put eternity in our hearts and that's why everyone* believes in something*; consequently, a lot of people believe themselves to be spiritual, of course they are, but there are levels*

On the other hand, The Bible is encrypted*; meaning it's spiritual, therefore only for the spiritual to understand. So, your understanding* will depend on the level* you're at.

Eventually, everyone will have to deal with this reality and evolve* to the next level.

Good luck!

--Your right! I especially note it when their might be well referenced answers, with notable authorities,--MAKING A STRONG POINT that is right on target & that might be longer than usual, yet if a correct answer is wanted, it might require length.

--I find too when someone recognizes the source of answer from a person or religion that is not popular, that there is more than the usual predjudice --WALA 5 thumbs down.

--Sometimes though the asker ignores the thumbs which is commendable!

--It would be nice if people really thought about a reasonable answer WHETHER they like the person or religion. -

(Philippians 4:5) “5 Let YOUR reasonableness become known to all men. The Lord is near.”

THE BIBLE IN LIVING ENGLISH SAYS:
"Let your reasonableness be conspicuous...."

I don't notice that as much here as in women's studies. Seriously. All these crazed feminists keep giving me thumbs down because I had the audacity to state that some women are satisfied with being a stay at home mom and that people should accept that. Eesh!

Though I do notice that whenever I answer a question concerning Paganism, I get a ton of thumbs down, especially when I actually answer the question.

Well, I took a look at your answer....

"Many Christians are just like people of other religions or like many of the atheists: narrow minded. I am a Christian, but I believe that my religion is no better than other religions and that, in fact, we're all praying to the same God, no matter what His name is, and He allows this to happen because He, unlike many human beings, knows of the importance of variety.'

...and while you may think that it was intelligent and reasonable here is what I noted about it.

1. You cast aspersions on the character of Christians by painting them with a broad brush and calling them "narrow minded".

2. You claimed to be a Christian and then said your religion wasn't any better than any other religion thus denying the basic tenet of Christianity that Jesus is the way the truth and the life and that there is no other name given by which we must be saved.

3. Then you presumed to understand God better than the people who disagree with you and basically said that Jesus coming to earth and dying for our sins was a waste of time because God 'knows of the importance of variety.'

You don't really consider yourself to be a Christian do you? From your answer you sound much more like a Unitarian to me.

"Men do not come to the light (understanding/truth: intelligence, reason),
because they love the darkness (lack of understanding/truth), for their (unintelligent, unreasonable) works are evil."

Sir, the "spiritual blindness" that you refer to has less to do with the acceptability and approval of the opinions of men, than an aversion to Light, for sight is only possible in light, thus, INsight only possible in HISLight. "In His Light we see light."

Christians believe that the Lord is the LIGHT that gives light (understanding, enlightenment) to every man; that He is the Light that is the LIFE of man. Regardless of one's faith or opinion about things religious, the spiritual reality will ultimately force an acknowledgement that there is an ultimate, supreme FULLNESS of LIGHT, and that all lesser degrees of that light is not what we are destined for.

While we may accommodate variety, as God obviously does, walking in the Light leads to an abiding in the Light, where integrity demands that we concur: there is a Name that is given above every other name, so that in the Name of Jesus every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord; that there is a Lord of all lords, a Master of all masters, a King above all kings.

The way to such an understanding is a narrow one; and perhaps, calls exactly for a narrow-mindedness: devotedly focussed only on the Mind of God about such matters, of which we can only know in part, anyway.

Respectfully,

Learner

That can't be true because my answers are never intelligent and reasonable and I get thumbs down all the time.

We all go into the R&S section fully aware of what's in store for us. Not a place for the sane and even-keeled.
