I think the verse you are referring to is "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" (Matthew 19:24).

Fundamentalists today constantly tell each other that the "eye of the needle" was a narrow gate into Jerusalem through which a camel could just barely squeeze, implying that even rich people can get into Heaven, provided that they walk a straight and narrow path.

It is also hard because the world is material. Things become "gods" to us because they seem fundemental and if we have money, we suddenly are in a haze where we think that money is the answer to problems. This takes over our belief in God and puts God second.

No, Jesus said that it was hard for a rich person to enter Heaven but that with God all things were possible. He also said that a person couldn't serve two masters, that if they loved money they couldn't love God too. Here's how the Apostle Paul put it.

1 Timothy 6:9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

1 Timothy 6:17 As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. 18 They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.

No, he did not. Jesus said that is difficult for a rich man to enter Heaven.

Rich may not only mean gold and silver wealth, but being well off. When things are going well on your own, it is difficult sometimes to see a need for Christ.

I agree entirely with the first answer. I remember a passage from the Bible...

23Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

25When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, "Who then can be saved?"

26Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
(Matthew 19:23-26)

no but Jesus said that it is very hard for rich people to get into heaven because you grow obssessed with money. You start to love money more then God. Though this doesn't happen with every rich person.

Rich people are not evil. Many, because of their faith, have helped their fellow man and have been blessed as they share their blessings.
