If you have strong reasons to believe that your life is going to be threatened (but it isn’t at the time) can you take action to prevent it from happening by injuring the person or will this be wrong?

You will face legal problems yourself if you injure someone else unless your physical safety is in immediate danger. If someone has threatened you and you feel they are capable of following through, you need to contact the police and articulate the details of the threat.

The right of self defense only allows you the injury someone in case of an immediate threat. You could try a restraining order.

A suspicion is not enough to justify a pre-emptive assault and you would be charged.
